“No one will use her like that.” Maerith’s lips curve into a thin, knowing smile. “That depends on whether she survives the awakening.” The gates open. Not with sound. Not with movement. They simply… part. The Sanctuary reveals itself, and my breath leaves my body in a rush. It isn’t a fortress. It’s a graveyard.
