It wasn't what they agreed on. Vadim looked over his shoulder, and his gaze caught Silas, he tilted his head and Silas stepped toward him. Vadim whistled and Aiden looked at the entrance. Seconds later, twenty vampires armed with blades, axes, and daggers stormed in. “Not again!” Aiden complained.

Just like I was doing earlier, he too was cuddling his arm that was bleeding profusely. I began to involuntarily walk towards him, feeling my eyes blaze out and my fangs elongate. I was struggling internally to tame my wild side and as much as my struggle was paying off, I was failing miserably. Thanks to the divine Robert’s head was to me. Theron's POV The day of the event was finally here. This is the day I officially put Twilight on the map. Another success to celebrate. Many of my past lovers have been calling nonstop to accompany me to the event but I turned them all down. I don't want any drama tonight so I decided to just go alone.

ILYANA’S POV “Wha…what do…you want?” I stuttered, staggering backward, trying to put distance between us. His white hair flowed down his back, unnaturally smooth, his face even paler than the last time I had seen him. His fangs peeked out as he slowly licked his lips, his red eyes gleaming with something darker, something more intense than before. I didn’t know much about vampires, only the little Atasha had told me after the last time, but I could tell this much—

"I am. Because you made me one, remember?" She looked defeated. Broken. The fire that had burned in the hospital wing had gone out, leaving her small and fragile and trapped. Good. That's what I wanted. So why do I hate it? I pulled the ceremonial dagger from my belt, the one used for pack oaths, and sliced my palm without flinching. Blood welled, dark and rich, and her eyes fixed on it with that strange hunger I had seen in vampires before. But different. She looked hungry and horrified at the same time, like she was fighting herself.

The team huddled closer, their fear palpable, but I couldn’t let them scatter. “Hold your ground. Watch the shadows.” A blur erupted from the darkness, a male vampire with crimson eyes charging straight for Hansel. My instincts kicked in. I lunged, tackling the vampire mid-stride, my shoulder screaming as we hit the ground. His claws raked my arm, drawing blood, but I pinned him down, my weight crushing his chest. He snarled, fangs gleaming, his strength unnatural as he thrashed beneath me.

Concern for Rose warred with the burning need for vengeance against Sylvester. I took a deep breath, forcing myself to focus on the task at hand. We drove straight to Sylvester's location next. It was a fortress with heavy iron gates and strong men by them, probably guards. We stopped our cars from afar. "I need three of you to take out those guards," I ordered quietly. "Quickly and quietly. No distractions needed." I ordered them.. Three of my best shifters melted into the shadows, their forms shifted as they transformed into massive wolves and they dashed to the men. Moments later, muffled screams were heard through the night.

I run as fast as I can and feel a pang in my heart as I get further and further away from my mate. "Is my mate feeling it too?" I ask my wolf. "Yes," she says sadly. "Don't worry, Jenny. I'll find you another mate, someone who will truly love us. And I have an idea of who it is," I say hopefully. My wolf just nods and we sever the connection. "Oh no," I say anxiously. I sniff vampires. I'm alone. It will be harder for me to eliminate them. Finally, I reach a familiar place in the forest and then I see a vampire. He has black hair, pale skin, and red eyes.

I would make an adventure for myself within those few minutes that fate had to spare me. Roaming the palace grounds, I found myself drawn to the patch where I first laid eyes on my now-husband. Memories flooded back of his majestic wolf form, black fur shimmering in the sunlight, and his enchanting green eyes. Those eyes that drew me in and intrigued me beyond lycan comprehension. Those eyes that held no form of warmth for me. However, my elation at finding a familiar space turned to dismay as I stumbled upon the same majestic wolf from my memory nuzzling another wolf.
