Because that was what she did. Although, the umbrella couldn't reach his head, because he was taller than her, despite she was tall as well. He chuckled to himself, and then raised the umbrella up, because his head was already getting soaked. Causing tiny droplets of water to drip and then enter into his mouth. Should have told them she didn’t mean it. The rules of the Academy made it worse. She couldn’t just walk into their castle to find them not as a member of Umbra. Crossing into another Castle’s territory was forbidden for Umbra students, and she doubted barging into their halls would be welcome. So she could only wait. Wait until she catches sight of them in the courtyard or in school grounds again. Wait until she found the courage to say the words. A breeze stirred her hair as she stepped out further, the sound of laughter rising from students heading toward the Aether Grounds. For a heartbeat, she almost wished she’d gone with Maren and Elira.
