Chapter 139 Nathan’s POV “Hey Uncle Darrick you got a moment?” I ask as I pop my head into his office. “I always have a moment for you,” Uncle Darrick closes the notebook on his desk. “I will have a few drawings for you later.”

“We just forgot for a while.” Soren pulled his hand away. Ice crystals clung to his palm, mixed with my tears. He stared at them for a moment, then turned his back. They all did. The heavy doors slammed shut behind them, leaving me alone in the silent hall as the frost began to steal my memories. Three days later, the wilds of the Reach had tried to finish what they started. Every step sent fresh fire through my cracked ribs and bruised body. The strap marks from the High Hall still burned like brands across my skin.

Ian pov I couldn't fathom the gravity of the situation unfolding before me. "Come on, this can't be happening, Uncle," I implored, my voice strained as I struggled to maintain my composure. "After all these years, you're actually here for the property?" Uncle Brown's eyes narrowed, transforming his once familiar face into a mask of cold calculation. “The property was merely a means to an end, Ian,” he sneered, his voice laced with venom. “Your father’s company was supposed to be mine—the rightful inheritance that was stolen from me. I’ll stop at nothing to reclaim what is rightfully mine.”

he shouted, his voice harsh and demanding. Kiera looked up from her seat, startled by his tone. "Frank, what’s wrong with you? That’s your uncle you’re talking about," she said, her voice filled with confusion and a hint of disapproval. "I don’t have time for your stupid questions, Mom!" Frank shot back, impatience radiating from him. "Where’s Zach? I need to see him." Kiera opened her mouth to respond, but before she could say anything, Zach appeared at the top of the stairs, drawn by the commotion. "What’s going on?" he called out, his voice calm yet carrying an undeniable authority that seemed to cut through the tension in the room.

Elizabeth tried to coax in a gentle voice, “Mom and your sisters will assist here.” Chris Jnr was about to join his grandma in coaxing his troublesome daddy when he felt an energy fluctuation in the air. He abruptly turned his head in that direction, steadying his stance to attack if required… however what met his vigilant eyes were the smiling eyes of his daddy’s master and Senior First uncle. He sighed in relief, and feigned an exaggerated expression of frustration, “Senior First uncle, can you take daddy downstairs?” He shook his head like a tiny adult, “He isn’t helping one bit…”

Bridget narrows her eyes at him. "But-" "It is not a request Banks!" he says harshly. She rolls her eyes and they all leave the room. Uncle Terrence struts towards me and grabs a chair to sit directly opposite to me. He puts the black briefcase on his lap.
