Corvin’s POV Corvin stood at the altar. All the lights were off in the hall, but the glass ceiling let the full moon in perfectly. The room was brighter than it would have been with the lights on. The moonlight gave off a blue light that made everything in the room glow, and the stars littered the sky with sparkling dots. They seemed endless. If it were not for gravity, it seemed one could fall into the stars forever. This day really could have been better. He shouldn’t have had to go all the way over there to pick up the pup, especially today of all days. Her mother should have prepared her.

“Should we come inside to discuss this matter further? Lukas, hold on to your son. The moon is closer during this time of the year. So, the pull is stronger.” My heartbeat slowed and my eyes fixed on the glowing orb in the starry night sky. It looked so bright, so lovely. It’s calling to me, it wanted me so badly. Crickets chirped at the back of my head. Their words became a distant language to me. A strip of crimson flowed out of my nose. The bulking man next to me impeded my advance. I pushed back at this towering menace. I forgot why I was here or what I was doing. One thing to me was clear—I must walk towards the light of the moon.

I didn’t want to tell him the truth, but my mouth just blurted it out, “sometimes, when I get overly excited, they just transform without my consent… my tail does it too.” The Hunter let out a slight snigger at my words. “Aren’t you supposed to transform under the full moon only?” He asked, though I could tell he wasn’t being serious in his words. Hunters knew we didn’t need a full moon to transform, though I doubted they realised that a full moon made our wolf senses much more potent.

Under the radiant glow of the full moon, Silver Moon Pack members gathered in the heart of their territory, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Moon Goddess. Alpha Jake, Luna Mara, and the rest of the werewolves stood in a circle, their eyes fixed on the heavens. As the minutes passed, a palpable sense of reverence filled the air.

But my brows furrowed when he chuckled and shook his head.

They definitely won’t be able to control it.’ He tells me and I nod even though he can’t see me. ‘Cancelling the full moon run. That’s an interesting choice.’ The witch sneers in my head, like the idea of that pisses her off.

Walking up to my side, he kept a polite distance as 'engaged couples' would. He clearly heard my whisper but was trying to appear unconcerned. I turned slightly, smiling faintly, shyly and hopefully as the future queen would. "Just thinking about the prayer to the Moon Goddess in three days." That was the truth. New moons were the moment when the Moon Goddess' power would wane, and it would be most suited for a grand farewell and a quiet escape. Daniel chuckled in turn, turning away and looking up to the distant skies. "The Moon Goddess will protect you, Susan."

Through all that, she has tried to think of the baby and not think much of her mate. Today was the day the Black Moon Pack was preparing to celebrate the Lunar eclipse, the only time when the show of the earth covers the moon and it appears darker. It is a full moon and one of the rarest ones where werewolves don’t get affected much.
