It took a while before everyone's eyes got used to the dark. Maddie sat on the floor with her head bowed and she didn't move. Omem provided the light for the lanterns brought along, and to everyone's dismay, the beautiful oak had no leaves anymore. Not much was left of the oak except old wood, all its life energy had gone to Maddie. She touched the tree.

" Serina firmly said while Paul nodded at her, promising that this must happen, at whatever cost that hinders on the way. Then both of them walk out together from the shade of the oak tree.
