Hi, everyone! This is Curvy Writes, and first things first: I need to take a deep, dramatic bow and then just collapse on the nearest couch. Because, people, we did it! I just want to say a massive, soul-hugging, confetti-tossing THANK YOU to every single one of you who has been reading my short story, "In Her Skin." Seriously, from the bottom of my slightly exhausted but extremely grateful heart, thank you. You guys have been the absolute best audience a writer could ask for.

My fingers ached from flipping too many pages and my eyes were tired from staring too hard. I was just about to give up and throw another book across the table when something caught my eye. It was a picture. I paused, slowly flipping the page back. There, in the corner of an old dusty book, was a drawing of a few strange-looking leaves. I leaned in closer. I didn’t recognize them, but the text under it mentioned something about skin regeneration… and scars. My heart skipped a beat. “Could it be?” I whispered.

It had a long tail with long hangings and a little goatee under its chin. In fact, like all other proles, a Iuba was a beautiful being, with an innate elegance and grace, but when you looked into the piercing yellow eyes of these beasts, you could see their true nature. They were monsters, created to plant nightmares in people's heads and this sight would cause Maddox again one or two sleepless nights, because before someone had put a bullet in this Iuba, he had ripped the blond woman's throat out .

Heat spread across my palm, burning my skin. Micha grabbed the book, trying to pull it off, but it only burned him too. He yanked harder—and a piece of my skin tore away, sticking to the iron surface. The pain stung, but my healing abilities restored the wound quickly. Then it happened. The book glowed. The iron shifted. And it opened. Golden letters appeared across the pages, words forming line by line. Micha and I stared, stunned—and excited. Finally, something real. Something the realms didn't erase.

Her eyes were going through the lines of the book she was reading but every now and then she has to focus on words to grasp the meaning. Continuously, her mind was being shifted to somewhere else instead of thr story which those lines entailed. The book, titled, 'Zaryaab' was about an underworld mafia guy who was not just a businessman but also a prominent politician of the country. A dark and quiet aura had succumbed him always on the streets he walk and within his heart, he carried a deep and intense fire that had been burning him for years.

The Child Eater" is the title. I lean against the bookshelf and open it up. Here lived once a big woman named Dask'iya. She was an evil woman who stole innocent children from their loving families and takes them to Yaq'ilis Creek (Dry River in Barbarian country). She gathers the children together by the river in a cave. Here, Dask'iya would cook for the children. She built a large fire on stones and tended to it with rocks and sticks she found in the forest. Dask'iya would broil the children on her special fire. But before Dask'iya would broil them, she would put gum into their eyes so that they could not see anything.
