"Well in books, it's usually the male character who has problems and solves clues and has backstories. He's the one who is the main protagonist and the female is usually weak." I heard her clear her throat and then her amused voice. "Are you calling yourself weak?" I glared at her. "Shut up." She surprisingly did but only after laughing at me. We were almost halfway through and Mike still had made no appearance. Not that I cared about him, I could see he took fascination towards Racheal and how he quickly jumped at the chance to help her. He frowned. "I see us. Why?" I realized then that the glitch was only for me. I was the protagonist. I was the one anchored to the plot. He was just a support character, a ghost in the machine who had broken free. He was invisible to the Architect's current draft. "They haven't stopped writing," I said. My voice was low. I felt a cold surge of dread. "He is starting over. He is putting us back in the system."

Maybe even top five. The guy who everyone underestimated because of where he came from was constantly proving them wrong. He studied. He worked hard. He didn’t go around picking fights. He didn’t disrespect people unless they pushed him first. If anything, trouble always seemed to find him. And now someone had decided they could ruin his future with a simple accusation? It was unfair. But what could I do? I wasn’t the person he needed. That was the part that hurt the most. I wanted to help him.

Uea was used to the plot going off-reason. He didn't care. He suppressed the suspicion and the urge in his heart as he closed his eyes and rested his head on another man's shoulder.

Hector, where I could match his strength. I also felt optimistic about victory being within my grasp. The reason was that I considered Raleigh to be a foolish adventurer, despite his D-rank. He was driven by emotions and desires, unable to see a person's true capacity.
