The message sent. I leaned back in my chair, watching the screen fade back into idleness. Somewhere out there, she was sleeping peacefully beside him, not understanding that I had already started moving closer again. I picked up my glass once more, taking another slow sip. And this time, I did smile. Because patience isn’t waiting. It’s timing. And mine is almost perfect.

Not patronizing in the way people can be when they think you are overreacting. It is patient. It is the expression of someone who has learned that sometimes the best thing you can do for someone is simply be present without trying to fix everything. "The answers you need won't always come when you are hunting them," he says carefully. "Sometimes they surface when you stop chasing long enough to listen. Sometimes the things we need to know come to us when we are quiet enough to hear them." I scoff lightly. "That sounds like something a Mage would say right before everything explodes."

“And if she’s there, we’ll find her. You’ve waited this long. A little more patience won’t hurt.” Maxton’s jaw tightened. Patience had been his prison these past months, a slow, torturous wait filled with unanswered questions and unfulfilled longing. “I’m done waiting, Tanner,” he replied. “If she’s alive, I need to see her. I can’t...” He trailed off, unable to finish the thought, as if even acknowledging the possibility of not finding her was too painful to consider. Tanner placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. “We will find her,” he said firmly. “And whatever happens after that, we’ll deal with it.”

Patience was key. The forest pulsed with the symphony of the night. Crickets chirped, owls hooted, and the wind rustled the leaves, creating a constant murmur that both soothed and unnerved Gandal. Time stretched on, each tick of his internal clock a hammer blow against his dwindling hope. Had he miscalculated? Was the Earthstalker a creature of myth, a ghost story whispered by the wind?

Wyatt’s POV Patience was a lesson most people never learned. They wanted immediate results. Immediate victories. Immediate satisfaction. Nature had never worked that way. Nature rewarded those willing to wait. The chamber beneath the palace had grown quieter over the past day. It wasn’t because there were fewer spiders. Quite the opposite. The hatchlings had begun leaving the nest exactly as they were supposed to. Every tiny set of legs that disappeared into the maze of cracks and hidden passages brought my plan one step closer to completion.

"Which means the message is the move. He wanted you moving and reconfiguring and expending resources." Thalrion looks at me. "You've been thinking about this," he says. "I've been thinking about how he thinks," I say. "Eight years of being inside his patience teaches you the shape of it." I set the tablet down. "He's patient. He doesn't move without knowing what the next three moves are. The car park was not impulsive." I look at Thalrion. "So what does he get from you spending three hours sweeping three properties?"

"Nataroth" {Natalia. It's been a while since you've called for me. What is the occasion?} "I've been thinking about speeding up the entire process. Have you gathered enough mana yet?" {Even if I have, it is not time for me to revive yet. Not only can your body and soul not bear it, it could lead to the destruction of the world again. Be more patient.} "I have been patient for years." {And I have been patient for centuries. By that logic, shouldn't I be the most impatient? Now, revert back before the other gods realize my presence.}

Not for response. But for existence to re-form. Like it’s learning something far more dangerous than intelligence. It’s learning patience. ************************************************* The silence stretches. Too long. Too intentional. Then The system speaks again. But not as a question this time. Not as analysis. Not as imitation. Just one line. Calm. Precise. Certain. “THEN I WILL WAIT UNTIL YOU BECOME PATTERN AGAIN.” And the connection doesn’t end. It deepens.

The last layer, held. Ernest held this with the patience he had been developing for years and that was, he believed, finally becoming something more than practice. The patience had become genuine. He was not performing the waiting. He was not managing himself through it with gritted teeth and the determination to appear unconcerned. He was actually, in the full sense, patient. He trusted the evidence would accumulate. He trusted that the daily practice — the system, the consultation, the presence — was building toward the moment when the last layer would find it no longer necessary to hold. He was not afraid.
