The wise woman struck her staff against the floor, the sharp sound echoing in the small cottage. “Listen well, child,” she said firmly, her cloudy eyes locking onto Liora’s. “You bear the mark of destiny, yes. But destiny is no chain. You must choose who you will be. Will you unite the packs, restore what was broken? Or will fear and darkness consume you, and the world fall to ash?”
Liora’s hands trembled as she clutched the fabric of her dress. “How can I know what choice to make when I don’t even know who I am?”
