“So tell me, is such a man even worth calling anyone's father? Really, I'm done, Nat. I will start afresh.” He went over and settled into a seat. Nathan followed, “Damn, this is not fair but you're a strong guy. Look at me, I'm surviving without my parents. I was never born with a silver spoon but I've landed my dream job. So you can do this, okay.” Lucas nodded slowly, eyes hard with resolve. “You’re right. No more reacting. I’m taking control of my life, starting now.” “I need to update my CV and start applying for jobs,” Lucas said, fire still in his voice but now laced with determination.

Pathetic. My penthouse is just like a tomb. Of course, expensive, the best of its kind, but cold. Too cold for my liking. Everything exactly the way I left it this morning, which is how I left it yesterday, and the day before. No life, none of importance. I hate it. But I'll prefer this to surrounding myself with fools. My briefcase slips from my hand, hits the marble island with a crack that echoes through the goddamn floor. I loosen my tie. Still uncomfortable, I rip the fucker off completely and throw it on the couch.

"Mr. Scott, this is the century-old Dragon's Tear root my uncle dug up in Whitehart Mountain. My uncle met someone this year but her family looked down on him for being poor and unable to buy a proper house in the city. "So, my uncle decided to head into the deepest areas in Whitehart Mountain to dig up some Dragon's Tear roots so he could marry the woman of his dreams and have a family of his own. There was a large bear guarding this root, but my uncle went to dig it up anyway after the bear went to sleep.

Liam argued defiantly, "Why are you throwing us out? My mom is your real wife! That homewrecker and her bastard child are the ones who should leave! I'm not going anywhere! I want to live in this big house! "Mommy, didn't you say that Daddy would take us back? They took our house. Now that they're gone, we should be moving back in!" Sophia tried to cover Liam's mouth, but it was too late. "You had it all thought out, didn't you?" James sneered coldly. Then, he threw them out and slammed the door with a loud bang. "James, you love me! I love you too! We're finally back together. Don't do this…" Sophia cried as she pounded on the door.

I’ve never heard of such a thing, but I wonder if my grandma knows about it?” Shado said as she looked at Alex, probably implying that she needed to head back to ask her grandmother. Just as Alex was about to speak, a tree root abruptly emerged from the ground, wrapping around Shado. “Ahh!” “Alex, save me!”

I slapped my forehead and exhaled. "What is it?" I surrendered. I took my bag from the side table and prepared to leave. I need money. I can't live without it. "Buy me a twin mango, bring it here in my office. Thank you bitch," she said and quickly ended the call. My brows furrowed as I looked at my phone. Where the hell can I get that fvcking fruit? I just closed my eyes and left the house to look for that damn mango. I went to supermarkets and other wet markets but still couldn't find that damn thing.

That shit is heart-breaking to watch, it is impossible to imagine what the rejected wolf feels. I turn eighteen tomorrow, just in time for the Mating Ball in the evening, increasing the chances of me finding my mate. I long to find him so much, someone to call my own. I have no blood family thanks to being abandoned in the woods. Even though I am surrounded by people that care for and love me, I am lonely. To find my mate and have my own pups would help me with so much of the pain that I have carried for as long as I can remember. Unconditional love is worlds best beauty, and I want it, just like everyone else.

Susan had explained ovulation, fertility, and the risks of unprotected sex. “I’m not saying this to scare you,” Susan had said. “I’m saying this because you need someone to tell you the truth, and Lord knows that woman upstairs won’t. You deserve to understand your own body. You deserve to make informed choices.” Looking back now, Miriam realized it had been one of the most important conversations of her life. Susan had given her something Margaret never did. Kindness. “Do you ever regret it?” Miriam asked quietly, pulling herself back to the present. “Staying here all these years? Watching her treat me like garbage?”

I instantly detected the underlying tones of bitterness and hatred as she spoke of her mother but, from the way she had taken Abby in her care and had vowed to look after her niece as though she were her own, that told me that she was never going to be anything like her mother. "I guess, if either of us do happen to fuck up, then the other will be there to unfuck the situation," it may have sounded like I was joking, but I was being serious, we could be each other's rock. We had both had tough childhood's and we have both been abandoned by our mother, so we knew all the wrong things to do as parents, which meant we would only do the right things with the occasional fuck up.
