I took a sigh of relief, dragged my suitcase behind me across the road and waved down a cab. "Where to mate?" The cab driver asked in a heavy British accent. He had this red copper hair tied in a pony with a weird quick smile that went on and off. "East stand apartments" "A student, huh? You have to be careful here, mate, there is a vampire problem" "Have you met or seen one yourself?" "No, but we see it on the news. It's just a matter of time before they start feeding on us" And I was there to stop that. For years, my training, and dedication as a vampire hunter was on killing vampires and preventing them from harming humans. The cab pulled over at the prestigious east stand apartments.

Hailey's pov; Upon hearing Austin's claim that he was a vampire, I took a sick leave from school and remained at home. When questioned by my parents about my absence, I reported feeling unwell. My younger brother, Charlie, disregarded the situation and proceeded to attend school as usual. In the meantime, I conducted extensive research on vampires. After poring over numerous sources, one commonality emerged - vampires are not real. It became apparent that the internet cannot always be relied upon for factual information.

Vampires were tall creatures, their height varied but always stayed constant, at the age of 116 all vampires stop growing , so whatever height they have, they're stuck with for the rest of eternity, or until someone happens to end their life. I noticed a small couch in a corner and took a seat on it. "Do you always watch me every night?" She suddenly asked me breaking the silence. "Since you got attacked," I confirmed and she nodded. "You're quite calm for someone who just learned that completely fictional characters actually exist," I pointed out. I've noticed ever since I told her that I was a vampire she kept a calm expression as if she's been told the exact same thing her whole life. "I really don't know either. I just feel this weird sense of belonging." That's probably the effect of the sacred book on her. She's the chosen one so she'd naturally feel attached to our species without even knowing.
