Daniel's P.O.V My eyes were open wide as I stared at the man standing in front of me. Was there an invisible mirror in front of me? Because the person standing in front of me seemed to be my exact reflection. Except for his clothes and that mole. That... Wait! The portrait!? "You... You are... The First Vampire!?" My voice which was first strangled in my throat, finally escaped. However, no answer seemed to follow my question except the matter of fact that the journal flew out of my hands, flying in the air as it was closed and fell into this man's hand.

He stood. “You’re not a hybrid.” “You don’t know that for certain.” Damon shook his head. “Hybrids are extremely rare, and besides—you don’t have a wolf spirit. Don’t you think you would have had one by now if you were part wolf? You’re a vampire, Mira.” I looked down at my hand, at the skin that was now smooth, the mark gone. “Then why do I have a reflection?” He was quiet for a moment, thinking, then said, “Most vampires are born with certain abilities. Like mine.”

The mirrors whispered in unison, with hundreds of voices of Camela blending together: “Yours…yours…nothing was yours…” Vincent screamed in fury, attacking the glass. Shards fell like rain, cutting into his skin. But behind each broken mirror, another reflection stood waiting. From all the reflections, Camela’s sorrowful voice rose in sync: “Then why didn’t you kill me?” One mirror near the center began to glow more brightly than the others. Inside it stood Camela, dressed in her wedding gown looking tattered and stained with blood, her scar glowing faintly white on her chest.

Her eyes then bulged at the sight of me, the sound of a gasp entering her lips before she looked at Xander. That was the last thing I saw before he closed the door, cutting off most of the light that was entering into the room. I could barely see anything more than three feet ahead of me. I took a long shaky breath as I turned towards Xander, freezing under his suddenly confident gaze. His mossy green eyes shone through the dark as all vampires eyes did. His familiar grin made a quick appearance, instinctively making me take a step back. The slim hope I had of those files even existing quickly disappeared.
