"What have you done to me?" He snapped and the huge mirror from the far corner flew towards me. Thinking that he was going to hit me with the mirror, I backed away by instinct. But then later on, I realized it wasn't his intent. I was about to ask what it was for when I had a good look at my reflection. My mouth fell open, my eyes wide. How on the earth did this happen? My eyes… They are bloody red. "Isn't this what you want? To be a vampire because you want to be with your vampire boyfriend forever?"

Although she wasn't expecting an answer, she asked anyway. Akira's anxious about how a vampire could enter the safest place in the city. “For the fall of the king and rise of the new king.” The vampire guard muttered, and Akira heard it. ‘King? New King?’ “For the fall of the king and raise of the new king.” He muttered it repeatedly like a chant. The vampire's mouth was pouring saliva so thick and in the color blue. It reminded Akira of rabies, and she also saw it in pictures. Traces of thick things on the scene and the color blue weren't able to be identified back then. But after long research, it belonged to a dhampir.

I’d been thinking about the mirror long before the siege. The Blood Mirror wasn’t just a relic. It was Moonbane’s last thread to its origin. It had once belonged to my mother, the former head of our house, and it was one of the few artifacts that could allow her descendants to speak directly to Morgana, the first pureblood werewolf.

This pull is strange, scary but amazing. The problem now is, how do I keep the most stubborn Vampire to ever exist safe without having a fight with her?

From her fingertips, shadows slithered outward. “Step into the mirror, beautiful one, and we will destroy all your troubles forever,” she whispered. “Who…who are you?” My voice cracked. Her grin widened. “The you your mother’s blood has suppressed all these years with the spirit of light. With the spirit of Eliora’s werewolves. I am your other self. The one born of pain. Betrayal. Envy.” My blood turned cold. Recognition stirred. I had heard stories of this relic: The Mirror of Seven Faces. I never knew why it bore that name, until now.

The last one… was Elara. Mira stepped forward, and the reflection moved with her. “You’re not me,” she said. The Elara-mirror smirked. “No. I’m what’s left of who you tried to bury.” Mira clenched her fists. “I buried her for a reason.” “She’s not gone,” the reflection said. “You absorbed her. You wear her bones.” Suddenly, the mirror cracked—from the inside. Black static spilled out. And Mira woke up screaming. Carl was at her side in seconds. “What is it?”

I didn’t hesitate. The chamber below was suffocating—lit only by veins of glowing quartz embedded in the walls. At the center stood the mirror. It was not constructed as a normal glass. It was ten feet high and its very edges were of obsidian teeth, and glimmered it did with a silver so deep it seemed to fall. The Mirror of Mercy. I approached it slowly. “What do I give?” “Blood,” Killian whispered behind me, his voice distant. I drew my knife, and cut my hand. When the blood spilt on the bottom of the mirror it became absorbed by the obsidian, just as water settles in the sandy desert.

He could simply stare at the red orpiment whizzing quickly and unreadably towards him. “Daddy!” shouted Queen Miranda at the top of her extreme as well as extraordinary fear and panic. “Daddy! Stoop down your body!” shouted Virando, suddenly appearing out of nowhere. Virando swung his hand in the air. He managed to create a kind of light blue mirror. He threw the mirror towards his daddy. The mirror automatically reflected back the intruder’s power containing quite lots and lots of red orpiment. The red orpiment all got into her body. The intruder squealed and squeaked up to her eight-octave voice tune. The red orpiment inside her body really burnt her whole body to ash.

Those who were cursing me moments ago were now holding their breath. Every single eye turned to Tania, who was shaking like a leaf. "No... it's not like that..." Tania shook her head frantically, her voice shrill. "It's a lie! It's a trap Evelyn set up!" But no one bought it. The Blood Mirror was an artifact of the First Vampires. It never lied. Valerius rose to his feet. Hellfire blazed in his eyes. The crushing aura of a Lord suffocated the room.
