Vanessa Black Clover Novels & Stories

“Black-tie gala. Friday. I want you on my arm.” Her eyes flickered in surprise, and then interest. Then something that looked a lot like triumph. “Am I still on the clock?” She asked, raising a brow. “No,” I said. “But you’ll be working.” *** The gala was a haze of strings, glass, and the view of too much money in one room. Vanessa arrived in a black dress that wrapped her body nicely. It was an open back, high slit dress that had a dangerous neckline. She knew what it was doing to me. She always did.

‘She doesn’t know who we are,’ Clover whimpers, pulling at her lavender colored hair, showing more fear than I’ve ever seen in her. “I’m right here Raven, I’m not leaving you,” I whisper, trying to calm her down, wishing I knew how to take her pain. ‘Gideon, like with Gideon… sink your claws into her to drain her she’s full of power and life!’ Clover squeals almost happily, as I look over at her watching her dance around the bodies. “Clover now is not the time!” I growl at her, trying to understand how she could be happy when everything has gone straight to hell so fast.

With a man. Her fiancee. Clover can't afford to jeopardize her marriage with Noah since it will help the Xiao company's branches to spread over sea. Noah Zang was somebody she couldn't and shouldn't offend. But June was an easy target. A little bit of crying and emotional blackmail would do. Her trance of thought broke, when her assistant bought the car infront of her, blocking the couple she was staring at. Clover got inside the car and closed the door with a slam. As the car started moving she took out her phone.

No, these steps were deliberate, getting closer with every click. I glanced over my shoulder and immediately groaned internally. Vanessa. And her crew. Vanessa always looked like she’d just stepped off a magazine cover, even when she was just walking down the street to terrorize people. Today, it was a sleek black crop top with some faint shimmer, paired with leather pants that looked like they had been sewn directly onto her body. Her heeled boots clicked as she walked, her dark hair flowing behind her like she was some kind of movie villain.

Chapter One: A New Beginning Aqua’s heart raced as she walked through the imposing iron gates of Crestwood High. Another town, another school, another chance to start over—if only it were that simple. At 5'10", her presence commanded attention, but she preferred to stay unnoticed. Her dark skin glowed under the morning sun, and her eyes, a striking shade of amber, held secrets untold. She pulled her hood tighter, hoping to shield herself from the prying eyes she could already feel on her.

Ibekwe crept towards the tree and tried to look inside the pot to discover its contents, but it was too high —too high for him to see. After much useless stretching of his limbs to catch a glimpse at the black pot, he decided to climb the tree to clear his curiosity once and for all. As he climbed the tree slowly, placing one foot over another and moving upwards at every push, he finally got to where the black pot hung. He opened the lid and looked inside the pot. Strange images that he had never seen filled his eyes. Images depicting different humans that he had never met. He stretched his hands wider and gazed at the pot inquisitively, then he stopped. Allowing the vision he had just seen

He went, looking over his shoulder twice, being exactly as stubborn about it as she had expected. Then Vanessa stepped out of the trees. Claire hadn't expected that. She registered it — the surprise, the adjustment — and filed it without letting it change her face. Vanessa looked different from the Gala, from the white dress and the polished self-presentation. She was in dark clothes, her hair loose, and the marks from where Derek had hit her were still visible at her jaw. She looked like a woman who had made a series of decisions she was somewhere in the process of reckoning with.

The Cross Empire tower was a morgue. The wedding of the century had imploded. The press was camped outside like vultures. And Liam Cross, the man who was supposed to be on a honeymoon in Bora Bora, was sitting in his office, staring at a wall of rain. Vanessa walked in. She was wearing white. A deliberate choice. A subliminal message. I am here. I am clean. I am the one who stayed. She had won. Aurora Vale was gone. The path was clear.

While the extra cameras would be installed today. Vanessa pushed her door open and walked in, shutting the door quietly behind her. She walked through the living room, making her way towards her room to get dressed. She took her bath early in the morning and had already eaten breakfast with her kids. Entering her room, she shut the door and walked to her closet, trying to pick out a good outfit for the day. After searching through her closet for about ten minutes, she finally settled for a black pants and white blouse with a black leather jacket over it. She matched it with a black heel and a small white bag.

Matthias is all that and more to the Pack and to the Alpha. My father nods and places his finger on the intercom. "Thank you. Please escort her in." A few moments pass in tense silence until Matthias opens the door to the office, Layla trailing behind him with her hands clasped in front of her. He places his hand on her back and guides her in. "Sit." He growls at her and for a split second of weakness, I almost feel kind of bad for the she-wolf. You won't be able to find a single wolf in Blackwater who isn't more than fond of Willie. She is fated to be our next Luna after all, even though she isn't yet aware.
