The ring on his right ring finger drew a trail of blood as it split her lip open and Serenity’s scream pierced the air around them.

Rune’s eyes utters open and they hold mine intently before they sweep up over my head, no doubt to Raegan. His lips curls into a knowing smirk. Then drops to mine again, warm eyes bleeding a darker shade of violet. “No,” his voice gravels, stirring up butterflies again. I swallow, watching that smirk stretche into a fine grin. “Never.”

My focus was locked on Vikram. He stood a few feet away, his dark eyes blazing, the fire reflecting in them like a demon pulled straight from hell. His smirk was twisted, his expression filled with arrogance and something else—madness. He looked at me like I was nothing. Like Emilio and I were some kind of joke. “Look at you,” Vikram drawled, tilting his head, his voice dripping with mockery. “Still standing. “There is every shape vegetable on the planet in there. One of them will surely do.” No. I did not hear him correctly. I looked closer at the box of vegetables. Several were phallic shaped. He wouldn’t. Ever so slowly, I turned so I faced him. My hands found one of the vegetables in question. Brack stupidly held his ground. The satisfying thunk when it hit his chest did nothing to alleviate my anger. I chucked the next one at his face. One of them asked Ventura as he scratched his beard. Isa’s eye twitched as she glared back at the asshole, but Santoro placed his hand on her exposed thigh and squeezed it hard, earning a soft gasp to escape her lips. I stopped midway closing my knife while I watched them tensely. “Do you need help controlling your bītch?” Ventura asked Santoro with an amused smile. “I’m going to fūcking kill him,” Francisco sneered under his breath before holding his hand out to stop me from jumping to my feet.

He wiped a hand down his face before slouching into his seat, causing Kaito to chuckle where he was canoodled playing video games. “I always warn him, Boss. Don’t go around salivating for everything with a vagina between it’s legs. He never listens.” He threw shade, and I couldn’t help but laugh as well. “Oh shut the fuck up, Kaito. The chanting stopped instantly. The Sigen turned his head over his shoulder, his black eyes fixing on my shaking shoulders. A slow, amused smirk spread across his scarred face again, as if watching a wounded animal struggle gave him genuine pleasure. There was something deeply wrong in that expression… not just cruelty, but a kind of childlike delight in suffering.
