THE VEIL OF TWENTY MOON
The First Sign
A low tremor ran through the canyon.
Not like the violent eruptions of the Moonfire.
This was… subtle.
Cold.
The molten shards nearby dimmed slightly, their warmth fading.
The molten dragon stirred uneasily, releasing a low, warning growl.
Luna felt it instantly.
The Moonfire inside her flickered.
Not extinguished—but… muted.
Like something was draining its strength.
“It’s pulling from the Veil,” she said.
Mira nodded. “Yes. And if it continues, it won’t just weaken the Moonfire—it could collapse entire sections of the Veil.”
