Vittoria's POV My fingers trembled as I adjusted the hem of my skirt. My mind replaying what had happened between Ricardo and me. His touch, his kiss, and the way he looked at me shocked me more than I would like to admit. For the first time in a long time, I felt wanted. The thought of it was scary to me, I wasn't supposed to develop feelings for Ricardo Lombardi. That wasn't part of the plan. “Get it together Vittoria, This is not some stupid love story.”

The faint sweetness lingered on my tongue. We waited in charged silence. Within minutes, a heavy, drugged warmth spread through my limbs. My fingers tingled, then grew numb and heavy. My legs weakened, knees buckling. Victor caught me effortlessly, scooping me up bridal-style against his hard chest. He carried me straight to the bedroom and laid me down on the massive bed exactly as I had described in my very first fanfic, on my stomach, one leg slightly bent at the knee, arms stretched limply above my head, face turned to the side against the cool pillow.

I crouched in the grass, turned on my phone flashlight, and fumbled for a while before finally finding my car keys. However, I was still feeling dizzy and weak. I couldn't even grab the steering wheel properly, and I didn't dare to, either. Instead, I leaned against an abandoned cart and tried to regulate my breathing. Just then, some of the drunken fans began making their way toward me with swaying footsteps. Two of them reeked of alcohol as they greedily eyed my body. "All by yourself, cupcake? Stranded? Wanna hitch a ride back home with me?" I felt my chest tighten as I stumbled backward.
