Jaxon’s jaw twitched in what I suspected to be restraint, as he took a step back from me and dipped his head in slight curtsy, averting his face from my face.
“Meanwhile,” I continued, nodding in the direction of the Argentina hunger, “I’ll go to Argentina with him. Follow up the trails he found there. One out of the two has to be Seraphina.”
I paused, running my gaze from one face to the other. “We leave at first light of dawn.”
The bounty hunters were dismissed after they were paid the first percentage of their fees, including the third one that didn’t yield any result, and after they left, Jaxon never returned to the study.
