The ugly wolf was strong but not the strongest because two minutes into the fight, Vlad had pinned him to the ground and pierced his neck with his sharp fangs leaving the other wolf whimpering on the ground. I should have run now that I had the chance but I couldn't. My feet stayed rooted to the spot, unable to move. I was mesmerized by how large and dangerous Vlad's wolf looked. Its white fur made it stand out and it had very piercing eyes that were bluer than when he was in his human form. The remaining rogues seeing that their leader had been defeated run off as fast as they could.

Avira! My wolf called from within me just as I noticed a presence. It was her! The she-wolf who have had me suffering her pain for the past two years, the she-wolf who had made me travel all the way here. Avira was her name, or was my wolf wrong? The high of the training session buzzed in our blood. "I'm starving," Viggo announced. Heading for the nutrient dispenser. "I could eat a horse." "Please don't," Wolfy sighed. Walking to the comms console. "The logistics of acquiring a horse are—" He stopped. The datapad in his hand chimed. Ping. A harsh, dissonant sound that cut through the warmth of the room. Wolfy stared at the screen. His expression shifted instantly—the lover vanished. Replaced by the Ice Viper. His scent turned sharp. Smelling of ozone and stress.
