“Mine doesn’t look anything like yours. Not even close. Mine’s surrounded by creepy veins and looks like weird symbols are forming in it. It glows, too. Like my—wait, are my eyes still glowing?” “Like a spotlight.” His eyes narrow onto my arm, covered by my jacket’s sleeve. “Can I see it? The dark veins are normal, by the way. It passes, so don’t worry.” “I’m glad to hear that.” I push back my hair to reveal my neck. “Mine almost takes up my entire neck.” “Your neck?” Elijah’s eyes jerk up from my arm. His face contorts in shock. He swoops forward and grabs my shoulder. “What the hell?”

Didn’t look away. Neither did I. Until I couldn’t take the way my stomach fluttered, the way heat bloomed beneath my skin. I looked down, breath catching in my throat. His hand moved to untangle mine from his shoulder—and then stilled. He was staring at my forearm. At the vein. Dark and thin, spidering from just beneath the skin. Not green. Not purple. Black. I thought that vanished before. His fingers wrapped around my wrist, not hard, but firm. Possessive.

I also saw the window of his room open so I closed it as well, his room was clean so there was no problem. "Where have you been since you haven't been psyched for two days?" I said then I sat on the side of his bed while looking at him I also noticed a red vein on the back of his other arm. As long as you can really see the red vein in his arm that is connected to the back of his neck. "What— What is this psyche." I whispered to her, frowning now as I brought my face closer to that thing. I was about to hold Psyche suddenly hug me now because I can't move now.

Walking into the bathroom connecting to the living room next and next to the washroom I stop at the counter. Turning I pulled back up the back of my shirt and looked at it wide eyed “shit” I whispered looking at the large purple shaded bruise that seemed to spread over my lower back red like veins peeking out behind it trailing upward. ‘That explains the burning feeling I guess’ I thought while looking at the veins. Taking in a few deep breaths I watch how the veins move under my skin turning slightly black. “Is that normal?” Sebastian asked from next to me, causing me to jump a little.

“Yes. I did promise you, didn’t I?” He tilted his head at her. “I said I will make you normal again.” “How? By poking me every day?” “It’s called acupuncture. It’s to test your blood flow.” He frowned at her words. She lifted his hand to her and said, “See, your veins are looking normal again. Instead of being black and blue, it’s becoming a normal color.” He pulled his hand to his face as he looked at the veins. He didn’t even notice that his blood vessels were becoming normal again.

All I could see was her. She was a wreck. Blood crusted under her nose. A long gash torn down her side where the beast’s claws had caught her. Her face was gray and sunken, her lips cracked. And her arm… I pulled back her torn sleeve and my heart stopped. The black veins. I’d heard about them. I’d seen them on the dying at the gates. But I’d never seen them on her, and the sight of them tore something open in me. They’d spread far past her wrist, past her elbow, climbing up over her shoulder, dark and thick and pulsing faintly under her skin like something alive.

“Drink.” I looked at the veins on his throat and I could see the blood pulsing under his pale skin. I could smell the luscious life-giving blood underneath, calling to me … I didn’t pause to wonder what was happening to me or what I was doing. Instead, I bared my teeth and sank them into the milky-white flesh of his neck.

There, his eyes swiftly turned dark as veins began to protrude into skin. "WHO IS IT?"

It was strange though, I wasn't in any pain, so then why was I crying? Larry's head turned to the side glancing over his shoulder, cursing beneath his breath. For some reason, my eyes settled on his neck as my hands wrapped around his shoulders. Veins Blue veins, teeming with spark and vitality ran from the underside of his chin to where his shirt shielded his shoulder. I gasped, panicking as I blinked my eyes. Willing the sight away. It wasn't real, that wasn't real. What the hell did I just see?!

Their eyes begin to glow and the sides of their mouth begin to increase in a crooked line as black veins appear underneath their eyes. “Finally, a little workout” Gabriel says, “I just want to fucking kill something,” his mentally stressed brother says.
