Two Months Before Leaving You
There were no windows, and one door that had a little glass square on the top.
“Miss. Brady,” the female voice said, and in the light, I could see that the voice was coming from the tiny speakers on the top of the walls. “There’s no one here to help you, and we’re not going to tell you who we are or where we are keeping you. But I will assure you that you’re very far away from civilization whatsoever, so let’s make things easier for both of us and stop acting like a brat, hmm?”
Something about the way she said those words was familiar, but she was using something to distort her voice when she talked into her mouth. It reverberated oddly, like she was talking from underwater.
