Finn's POV (Special Chapter) I am the shadow to his sun. The echo to his roar. I am Finn Lancaster, the spare, the afterthought, the one who learned to move silently so as not to disturb the precious heir’s training. Ronan never had to learn silence. The world bent to make room for his voice.

Why was he so pissed off? He spoke smiling fake at me, " I hope, my joining JK wouldn't affect Ares or you!" I exhaled heavily, slightly annoyed. Since when did Finn started acting like a hot tempered teen? Trust me, in my eyes, he was the most impressive and mature man that I had ever met. I folded my arms, giving him a lazy glare, " What do you exactly expect, Finn? It isn't like Ares didn't get a single team. Why so noisy?"

His usual permanent grin had been replaced with a melancholy look as we rode the rails to our destination. I lean across the cab and as quietly as possible I ask, “You good man?” Slowly Finn turns his head, his violet eyes dull, and the corner of his lips turned down. “Old memories.” He says just as quietly as I asked but with a flat tone. At first, I thought he meant from when he and Mathias had ventured to Andora to face Aodh thinking together they could defeat the god of the underworld, except, unfortunately, they had their asses handed to them as I heard.

“Save it, Finn, I’m going and that’s final.” “Why Morgan? Why?” Finn’s anger melts and he gives me pleading eyes. My hand automatically finds Ruda, who is still growling, twinning my fingers in his fur. Ruda begins to quiet. “Finn I’m going because I can help. I couldn’t help before, but here – in this place, I can. I can feel them all. An army of echoes.” I tell him hoping he understands.

This wasn’t the time for sympathy. We needed answers, and we needed them now. “What’s your name?” I asked, my tone still cold, but softer than before. He hesitated, as if revealing this final piece of information would seal his fate. “Finn,” he finally said, his voice barely above a whisper. “My name is Finn.” “And your sister?” Rowan asked, his voice still low and dangerous. “Mara,” Finn replied. “She’s younger than me. She’s… she’s just a kid. Please, I’m begging you, don’t let them hurt her. I’ll do anything. I’ll help you. I’ll fight. Just… please.”

Judging from the duo's interaction, however, they could deduce that Tobias and Finn were very close to each other. Dante asked, "Do you know Prince Toddy in person, Mr. Carter?" Finn picked up the Faldorian language in the past years. So, he was pretty surprised when he heard what Dante said. "Prince Toddy?" Val had claimed to hate him then, but the dedication—the pure, obsessive fire—was impossible not to respect. Val tilted his head. "You could be rotting in that villa in total silence." Finn gave a slow, begrudging nod. "Yeah. Fine. That shit was starting to crawl under my skin." "Then drop the act. Have some fun. Or are you going to pout like a pup who lost his chew toy?" "Watch that mouth," Finn growled. His eyes dropped to Val’s lips, lingering there with enough weight to make Val's breath hitch. "And I don't pout."

With widened eyes he looked around for the source of the voice, knowing full well its source wasn't something that could be seen by the naked eye. Havu moved his head. Now, he was directly in front of Fyn's face. A somewhat triumphant gleam in the snake's eyes. "They..." Fyn drawled, wetting his lips. "They actually spoke to me."

The guy turned a glared at Finn and fired at him, "Who are you to talk here? Are we friends?" "I can't be friends with you, you can't even make a clean lie." "Shut the fuck up, you asshole! I was not talking to you, was I? Now be a good nerdy boy, you are, and go and suckle your mother's fallen boobs on your table." Finn smiled at him and said, "My mum's boobs are dry and cold, I would rather go for the youngsters' own. Have you tried it before?"

Finn tugged at my sleeve, small brows pulled together. “Mom?” he whispered. “Something is wrong.” My stomach tightened instantly. “Where?” I asked. He didn’t point to anything in the room. He pointed to his chest. “Inside,” he murmured. “I feel… loud.” Lucian’s head snapped toward him. “Finn,” he said carefully. “What exactly do you feel?” Finn frowned harder. “Someone is calling us.” My hands froze. “Calling?” Chase asked, voice suddenly sharp. “Calling how?”
