SNAP I lightly shake myself out of my daydream. I know for a fact that if I close my eyes right now, all I will see is my men. My mates and our future, together. But I don’t dare close my eyes with this female staring me down. My body seems to flip on high alert, ready for anything. “Hannah, this isn’t even a question. Don’t be silly. Take the keys then quietly wake your brothers,” she snaps, a bit louder.

A cold voice hisses through the darkness, cold and slithery like a snake with the subtle underlay of malevolent intention "Who are you?" I ask baring out my fangs, my eyes giving a faint illumination to thick suffocating darkness. "Put those toys away." The voice snarled and I was instantly wracked with intense spasms of pain. "You can't even stand up to the effects of dragonsbane and you'd seek to bare your claws at me!" Another intense spasm of pain wracks me and I buckle on my knees. "Insolent fool!" The voice snaps at me before falling back into a deviant cackle.

He asks after telling Callie to shift. “It’s a man. Snare is a man!” I blurt out. The tiger growls, it’s brown eyes on me. “What are you talking about?” “Snare has always been a man. The twins are his!” I almost shout, trying to get all the information out. "You didn't forge the results!" He cocks an eyebrow at me and turns back to the tiger.

“Are two bitches too much for you to handle?” “At least I dealt with those cops! And in my defense,” Snake replied in his usual whiny voice. “Those bitches are Britney Cooper and Grace Carlson, and they’re fucking the Wolf Riders' top dogs.” He scoffed. “They have more security than the fucking president of the United States!” “I want results,” Viper snarled. “Not excuses!” I heard a loud back and when he continued, his voice had dropped to a threatening growl. “If they’re not dead, you’ll be! Do I make myself clear?”

The snap. It began as heat under my skin, a pressure building in my chest. I doubled over, gasping, and then the world shattered. My claws tore through the earth without command, black veins racing up my arms like fire. I tried to shout, but the sound that ripped from my throat was not my voice. It was a roar — guttural, raw, and inhuman shaking the ruins until dust rained down from broken stone.

I snapped, louder than I intended. My voice echoed down the hall. Everyone stared. Something inside me snapped—something small but important. I didn’t care if I sounded scared. I didn’t care if my voice shook. I wouldn’t let him say that name. “You don’t get to talk about me,” I said, forcing the words out. “Or my past. Not anymore.” Jake stared at me—really stared—as if seeing a version of me he wasn’t used to. One that talked back. The surprise lasted two seconds.

He snapped me out of my thoughts and took out a small bell, shaking it. A familiar chiming sound echoed in my ears… giving my mind that blank feeling again. "When I snap my fingers, you will obey my every command." He remarked and snapped his fingers in front of my face. A hazy feeling suddenly enveloped me. I was dazed, my eyes staring unblinkingly into his weird black ones. Weren’t his eyes blue or are they his wolf’s? His voice was just above a whisper, replaying over and over in my head and it sounded like a haunting song to my ears.

She mumble. The venom in her voice startled me, and I felt Snow bristle inside me. “I don’t like her,” she growled, her hackles metaphorically raised. Before I could say anything, Cassidy stepped in, looking furious. “Sabrina! That’s no way to talk to—" I quickly raised a hand, cutting her off. Revealing my identity to this girl didn’t seem necessary, and frankly, I didn’t want to make things worse. I turned back to the girl—Sabrina, apparently—and kept my voice calm.

"If it costs twenty grand to end it, why not keep it? If the kid's mine, I'll take responsibility." I hated him, but watching him shut them down almost made me wanna clap. "Danny Brooke!" Lindsay snapped, jabbing her finger in his face. "Don't think I can't have someone deal with you!" Danny grabbed her wrist, voice low and nasty. "Better pray they get to me first. I don't make exceptions for girls. Wanna get hit now? ER's right there." *** Neither Lindsay nor Ella expected Danny to go that savage. "You! Get out!" Lindsay shrieked, stabbing her finger at the door.
