He could not stop feeling restless. What if he let his guard down and all the people he loved died in front of him? His mind already imagined the figures of Arthur Silvano and James Hermann standing before him in a dark room, with him immediately beating the two old men until he was satisfied.

It was clear he didn’t want her spiraling too far ahead. “We’ll know in due time,” he said evenly. “I’m still putting the pieces together. But rest assured, Conrad and I are doing everything we can to protect you.” He hesitated, then stepped forward and extended his hand. “And… I’m Keith. Keith Callaghan. Sorry for the late introductions.” There was something gentle in the gesture that made her think she can positively trust this stranger. Thalia stared at his hand for a second almost like she didn’t recognize what it meant before slowly reaching out. Her fingers touched his palm.

The guard's voice drifted into my ears making me remove my hands from my eyes to see who he was talking to. "Huh?" I froze seeing the figure in my front, it was Alpha Kyle, the last person I had expected to be here. Was he here to make things hard for me again? I just couldn't understand what was going on and could only stare blankly. "What do you think you are doing?" Alpha Kyle growled as he stared at me. "Kneel!" Immediately, I felt an invisible pressure pressing down on me forcing me to my knees. Even though he was staring directly at me, I didn't dare to look straight into his eyes. I knew I might be whipped again if I did that. So to prevent such from happening, I had to avoid looking

"I'd rather die than destroy all I've worked for. So you better kill me and make it quick, you son of a nobody..." And that triggered him. Trevor snarled. His eyes narrowed and flashed a golden color flecked with red. He spread his hands, clawing out, and stormed towards a distraught Doctor Greg. Trevor gripped his neck, tightening his hands around it before slapping his chest. Doctor Greg choked and coughed. "K-Kill me..." "Stop it!" Kira yelled. She rushed towards Trevor, ramming into him with her petite frame. Luckily, she was able to get his attention, but he didn't seem as though he could stop what he was doing.

"And this is?" Keith picked up on the tension immediately. He stepped forward, offering his hand with an easy smile. "Hello. I'm Keith Burns, Ms. Sinclair's coworker and friend." Christopher had always been composed in front of others. He shook his hand, introducing himself without missing a beat. "Ah, I see." Keith's expression shifted, interest flickering in his eyes as he studied him more closely. "I've heard a lot about you. They say Mr. Zephyr from the Northon guild is young and impressive. Nice to finally meet you."

The crown prince had the power to go wherever he wished. “Are those werewolves,” I questioned Valerian, gawking at some wolves whose furs had stripes of white and red. The big one sat on the grass, and the smaller ones were playing with her tail. His face turned serious for a moment but went relaxed when he looked out to see them. “No, Those are actual wolves. Nothing special to worry about,” he chuckled, pulling his head back into the carriage. “How can you tell the difference?” I asked again, trying to hide my confusion.

Ditto buddy! “What? You can fly over the river as a wolf?” I shot. “Almost, I am one of the fastest wolves in Astoria,” Kent said. Not bragging but just like it was a fact. “Why don’t you transform and I hop on your back? I can hold on pretty tight.” I suggested. Kent turned to me slowly. He looked beyond angry. “How dare you!” “What?” I asked, confused. “How dare you ask an Alpha to be your mule? I have never, will never, let anyone ride my back.” He explained further.
