Ziggy squinted and shook his head as his mood lightened. "You're an old man."

But tonight, the currency had devalued to zero. Eddie’s laugh cut through my thoughts, cold and jagged. He wasn't the "God of War" defending his queen; he was the jailer mocking a prisoner who dared to rattle the bars. “You think words like that will hurt her? Maggie?” Eddie’s voice was a whip, cracking over the sound of the surf. “Don't make me laugh. She’s made of ice and ambition. She doesn't feel insults; she calculates them.” He turned to the onlookers, his posture rigid and commanding. “Go back to your drinks! My wife is simply having a moment of... dramatic flair.”

She waggled her eyebrows teasingly. I groaned, covering my face with one hand. "I know, I Googled it. But she's mortified. Keeps happening every time she moves. I feel like an ass for causing it." Angela's laughter tapered off into sympathetic chuckles. She sighed and patted my arm, her expression turning sisterly.

My mother-in-law gives me a slight push "Are you okay mother?" She complains "I'm still wondering what I'm doing here". I hear a door open " Wala!" Mr. Jeffery exclaimed "Your cake". "Mother, do you like it?". She replies with a confused tone" Huh?" "Do you like it, give me your honest opinion". " I guess it's fine".I hear a bit of sarcasm in her voice "Describe it to me". She exclaims " What!". She suddenly reduces the tone in her voice "what?".

“There’s just something fascinating about you.” “Stop talking and eat.” “You know when you smile, the corners of your lips raise up a little. Not all that high though cause it seems like you’re always trying to repress your smile around me. But whenever you decide to be comfortable and actually smile, it raises all the way up in the most adorable manner. Like your cheekbones come to life and your eyes become tinier I’d mistake you for an asian if didn’t know better. Your eyebrows too. You have this naturally perfect carved eyebrows and whenever you’re smiling, they magically become thinner. And you know the craziest part, though they become thinner they still have that perfectly carved shape

I groan, hinting an irritation. On the corner of my eyes, I saw how his brows raised and the corner of his lips lifted. There is a gleam of amusement spread on his eyes as if he find my remark funny and ridiculous. I mentally rolled my eyes because of that and just silently walk upstairs while he is on my side, holding my waist to support my every move.

Kane enters the bedroom and asks with genuine concern in his words. I grin at him, "If that was pain, sign me up for more," I wiggle my eyebrows.

He says waggling his eyebrows. Is it just me or does he sound exactly like Lucy. "But we will miserable together. We have absolutely nothing in common..." "I beg to disagree. We are both hot and good looking and I bet the sex will be mind blowing." He says winking at me and I feel my stomach curl in disgust. "Is that all you can think about? We are talking about our life here and all you can think about is sex." I raise my voice at him and his eyes widens a little at my outburst.

God help me, I wasn't used to this amount of physical contact but; why do I like hers so much? I turn to face Mira, who is giving me a teasing smile, her eyes glistening with relief and mischievousness. I glare at her, but she only wiggles her brows at me. I frown, "is something wrong with your face? Your eyebrows won't stop wiggling." I say with a deadpan and an eye roll. She scrowls, but there's a soft edge to it.

I then proceeded to raise both of my eyebrows at him which was a big act of self-degradation on my part since we all know my issues with a single eyebrow raise. My intention in crossing my arms and raising my eyebrows along with my glare was to look intimidating enough to get him answering my questions without having the trouble of using my vocal cords. And I did get an answer without asking him anything. He just didn't look intimidated. At all. But I let it go this time. My answer was more important.
