Their presence meant my window was closing. I took a breath so deep it felt like my last, centering myself. The Moon’s Tear answered with a thrum, a contained supernova of divine grief resting against my heart. Not yet, I told it. Wait for the moment. Wait for the crack in her armor. I opened my eyes and began the walk down into the valley. I did not skulk. I did not hide. I walked with my chin raised, my stride even, the way a Luna walks to meet her people.
