Beneath Two Worlds The journey east took three days under twin skies. By dawn, gold light flooded the valleys; by night, silver washed the land clean again. Between those hours, the faint pulse of crimson shimmered on the horizon—the Blood Moon rising before its time. Selene felt it tugging at her with every step. It wasn’t malevolent this time, not yet. It was calling. Kaen led the way through a canyon where cliffs glittered like obsidian mirrors. The child walked beside Selene, quieter since the attack, one hand pressed to the faint scar on its shoulder.

“By ten p.m., the moon is nearly full. The High Priest activates the mate bond ritual. Wolves whose mates are within the pack will feel the pull and find each other. They’re blessed publicly.” My heart skipped slightly. “And when the full moon rises completely,” she continued dramatically, “the eligible wolves venture into the woods to hunt the biggest animal for the royal family. Here have some water and tell me the reason why you're delaying it!" Mara spoke. Beta Daniel must have compiled as the sound of glass hitting the tables empty crackled through the air. "We are doubtful that the Blood Moon pack might not stay in peace with us anymore and attack us in the next few weeks." My feet froze on the ground; I have heard of that pack name before. But I don't remember clearly in what context. Why did it seem so familiar? With my curiosity peaking, I stepped closer and perked up my ear.

The men nodded and got to work while the others shifted into wolves and darted back into the woods to find their comrades who had been wounded by the beast. Moon's call approached his cottage which was close to a hill at the other side of a narrow stream flowing down into the river at one part of the forest. He walked across the board bridge he had made over the stream to get to his own side. Although he would have easily sprinted through the stream if he was in his wolf form but he didn't really fancy getting wet when he was in his human form.

The Moon Goddess, a celestial embodiment of grace and power, greeted the werewolves with a gentle smile. Alpha Jake and Luna Mara, overwhelmed by the divine aura, dropped to their knees along with the entire pack, paying homage to the deity who governed their lives. "Alpha Jake, Luna Mara," the Moon Goddess spoke, her voice a melodic cadence that resonated through the hearts of all present. "You are under my divine protection, and your union is blessed." Alpha Jake and Luna Mara exchanged glances, their hearts swelling with gratitude and joy. "Thank you, Moon Goddess," Alpha Jake spoke, his voice a mixture of humility and appreciation. Ocean happily told Moon whose smile was wider than before. After school, Moon dropped her back to the Villa. She got in and went straight to her room. She took a quick shower and changed into an orange summer dress that reached to her mid thighs. She wore her pumps and went downstairs. She was looking pretty. Lora served her some snacks, she had it. After a bit of time, she pulled her bag over her shoulder, bid her goodbyes and went to the woods. She reached the lake side in 20 minutes, but Moon was nowhere to be found. She put her bag on the ground and enjoyed the nature and beauty around her. She was carving the wood of a tree when she felt hot breaths on the nape of her neck. She panicked

Kael replied. “Helpful explanation.” He gave her a small smile. “They tell the story of the Twenty Moons.” Luna ran her fingers across one of the glowing carvings. The moment she touched it, a powerful wave of energy rushed through her. Her vision exploded with light. Suddenly she wasn’t standing in the stone circle anymore. She was somewhere else. A massive sky stretched above her. Twenty enormous moons filled the darkness, glowing in different colors—silver, blue, violet, gold.

Walking on the dark road, Walking by the silent pound, Sitting by the old lord, Sky looking rosy gold, A scared boy called you, Crying for single you, Teary eyes finding you, Trembling hand calling you, Weak cries filling skies, Asking for you flying high, Starry sky awaiting you, Walking Moon passing by. Young lad calming down, Watching you smiling now, Bunny boy watching you, Walking Moon passing by. Taking you in the hand, Younger boy running home, Keeping you in the gleam, Sleeping now for your dream, Walking home singing high, Walking Moon passing by.

The moon was already partially covered by shadow, and the eclipse was beginning its slow, inevitable march toward totality. "Okay, Mom," I whispered to the night, to the memory of the woman who had prepared me for this moment. "Okay, Moon Goddess. I am ready. I am scared out of my mind, but I am ready. Please... please let this work. Let me save them. Let me be strong enough." I took a deep breath and started walking. I was a Twice-Born. A champion of light walking into the heart of darkness. And tonight, one way or another, it all ended.
