Emily was out before I could say anything, she moved to stand beside me on the road with her arms loose at her sides and her wolf visible in her eyes, that amber depth that had not been there two weeks ago. Three headlights came on ahead of us. Blinding. Deliberate. Making us visible while keeping them in shadow. A car door opened. Footsteps on the road. And then Troy walked into the edge of our headlights older than he looked in council chambers, somehow, as though the night had stripped something from him. His escort stayed back. He came alone to the middle of the road between us. "You have the testimony," he said. Not a question. "We have everything," I said.

He broke out with a smile as he said, "It sounds like you're still looking for trouble with me." Troy swept a glance around arrogantly. He appeared to be thinking for a minute before he said, "We're not here to look for trouble. We're just under orders to take your life. You should come with me. "You're pretty brazen to kill the Night Pavilion's men and still hang around for certain death," Troy said with a sneer. He did not seem worried about Chase escaping. "I don't understand what you mean," Chase said with a frown. "What do you mean by certain death? Is there anyone in this world who can be a threat to me?"

“Give me her whereabout and you're free to go. Alive.” “As you can see, blocker.” Rio grinned and stretched out his arms, sneering. “I only brought the ax, the clothes and the robe I wore. Besides, how could you expect me to know what you're talking to me about?” “Wolvire,” his enemy spoke a name angrily. “You know very well what it is, damn human! After 2hours of his death, he woke up again as a zombie. And came out growling from his house looking for prey to devour. All the water that was supplied that day is infected, the first place that the water was delivered to was Tacoma the first Zone of Zombies. Troy’s POV Troy paced up and down the hallway, anger and irritation exiting his pores and making everyone avoid him. His skin kept rippling and he wanted to choke the life from Russo’s eyes. He wanted to see it wane and disappear completely. He had tracked Reese’s scent all the way to the river and found Cleo’s scent there as well. He had followed her scent for a mile where it completely disappeared. His wolf was pissed off and he was pissed off. “Is he awake?” Troy asked once the door opened and Dr Tyrell stepped outside.

It made sense she'd be concerned about their Beta. Nothing more than that. I'd barely had time to process Alexei's visit when I heard familiar voices in the hallway. The door opened, and Troy appeared, leaning heavily on a walking stick but grinning from ear to ear. "Look who's awake," he said, making his way slowly to the chair. "About time, sleeping beauty." "Troy," I said, relieved to see him upright. "How are you feeling?" "Like I got electrocuted and beaten up, which I did." He settled into the chair with a wince. "But alive, thanks to you."

Troy said, fully aware that I already knew what he planned to do to Doctor Jacobs. “Why him?” I asked. “What?” Troy snapped. “Why do you want to kill him like that? Why not my grandmother?” “You grandparents are fated. If I kill your grandmother, Dexter will die.” “So?” I shrugged. “He’s dying already anyway. Why are you so angry at Doctor Jacobs, but not Xander or Jolene or any of the other wolves that want me dead?” Troy undid the strap of his watch and put it in the drawer with the rest of his collection. He slammed the slim drawer shut and gave me a ‘fuck you,’ look if I ever saw one. “This is different.”
