She thought maybe she could see some things that could break the bond. She walked to the shelves and searched around for any books that involved werewolves. She picked up a book from the shelf. The book had a picture of a black wolf in front of the title. "Werewolves rule." She remembered that she had seen the book before. The book was for anyone who had just transformed for the first time. It was for the new wolves to know and follow certain rules. "Maybe it might have something to do with how to break it." She said , flipping the book. It was a book with a lot of tiny writing. She flipped it for some time, until she got bored. She was about to drop it when something caught her attention.

Raven stepped into the library, looking at the mounds and mounds and stacks and shelves of books all around her. She could not remember one time ever seeing a library as boundless as this one. She walked alongside the stacks and started reading the types of books that were included in this library. She found there were books of all the creatures in the land. There were books about caster magic, human magic, the magic animals, the bitten, the history of the bitten and many many many other books. She took an interest in a thick, black, leather book, pulling it off of the shelf she noticed the dust being disturbed as the large book slid off of its place and her hands. I grunted. After hours of research, I was about to give up and turn in for the night when something caught my eye. A small blue-black book peeped from the corner behind the other book on the shelf. It looked a little older than the other books. I slipped it out and opened the first page. The first three words I saw were “THE RAVEN WOLVES.” My wolf and I howled for joy because we had been searching for hours for this tiny book. I opened the next page and started reading through it.

At least from the inside, because he wasn't rotting on his chair. After picking some books, Ricky sat on the chair at the most end table of the libary, far from the main door and even the silent librarian. He slowly slide the chairs out from the table and squinted his eyes to see any dust forming on the plastic surface. No dust. Guess the librarian really did his job, or he just simply bored. As he sat on the chair and took the first book from the five books that he found, the title of the books says... MYTHICAL CREATURES: PIXIES

Elias stopped moving. Then came a soft scurrying sound. Tiny claws on the floor. Relief hit me so hard I almost laughed. “It’s just a rat,” Elias said after a moment. “Or maybe a raccoon that got in through the vents. The campus has had problems with them before.” “Thank god,” I breathed. “I thought we were busted.” He made his way back to me, slower this time. His hand found my arm in the pitch black. “You okay? I didn’t mean to stop so suddenly.”

Pulling out a chair by the table, I press on, “Hey, Tilly. I need to talk to you about Ginger.” Luca tugs a book from the shelf closest to him. On the cover is an illustration of an old man with a bushy beard holding what looks like a spear. The book is titled Death to Those Who Sleep. “Brutal,” Luca murmurs, stuffing it back. “Tilly?” I try again. Luca falls down on a seat across from me, snorting. “What sort of stupid name is Tilly? Kind of reminds me of a—” A sturdy, thick, leather-bound book flies from a shelf and hits Luca on the back of the head. It was a book they had read countless times, but each time, it held a new magic, a new wonder for Theo. “Once upon a time,” Hazel began, her voice soft and soothing, “there was a little bear named Barnaby who loved to go on adventures.” Theo’s eyes widened, his attention captivated by the story. He listened intently, his tiny fingers tracing the illustrations, his imagination soaring with each word Hazel spoke. The story of Barnaby the bear, his adventures in the forest, his encounters with talking squirrels and mischievous rabbits, filled the room with a sense of magic and wonder. Theo giggled at Barnaby’s antics, his heart filled with joy.

The time that passed had little effect on them where they were safely stored. Jake gestured to a large table by the closed window and they dropped all the books there. Wayne and Walter walked over and Wayne took a book. He opened it and read the first page aloud. “The prophecy was never meant to be me. I was never the one...” he read but the rest were total gibberish, a repetition of words over and over again. But in the middle of the book was a sketch of a wolf with yellow colour pencil. Underneath it, the word ‘unclear’ was written. They all glanced through more books, each having just one page of useful information. And even when they hadn’t… I no longer let them land. I had too much peace in me now. There wasn’t room for shame anymore. Back at the house, I carried the books Darren had ordered for the nursery upstairs and placed them on the newly assembled shelf. They were all hardcovers with soft pastel covers and gold-stamped lettering: Goodnight Moon, The Velveteen Rabbit, Where the Wild Things Are, Dream Big, Little One, I Am Enough. I traced the spine of each book with my fingertip, whispering the titles softly.
