'I won't, I won't,' I assured her and took a sip on the glass of wine the waiter situated on our table. That wasn't a lie. I really do intend on making steps tonight. A long table with a couple of chairs was set on the platform which I assume is for the pack leaders and even a couple of elders.

I heaved trying to move the large table that stood at the center of the room. The table screeched across the stone cold floor as my wolf came to my rescue helping me move the damn furniture. I growled in relief as my glowing eyes strayed to Jenine. “You’ll have to get used to this,” I said when I saw the look on her face. The same look she had had when she'd wanted to run in the park. I signaled Jenine to move back then proceeded to draw a circle on the floor with white chalk. I had everything I needed with me in my bag.

This should be super fun. We walked over to the table Lillian had pointed out before as ‘their’ table in the middle of the canteen. But thank the heavens I was right, cause I would have left and to go wait in the car. I grabbed myself a seat at the counter. There was a bowl of punch on the counter... a couple of plastic cups on the floor and others on the counter. A spill of the drink on the counter but nothing major. This was paradise compared to the living room, which was nothing less of a pigsty mess. All I needed to calm my nerves and get my head out of yesterday's events was listen to a bit of music... And I'm grateful that the songs on Casey's phone weren't all completely bogus!

Kaihra led them to what seemed like an old warehouse past the marketplace. It was the most quiet place that they have encountered after the slums and the market. Though the room that the girl Kaihra led them had blinking bulbs, at least it was not dirty, dusty, or smelly. It was a decent room with two bedrooms, a mini-kitchen, and a cabinet. But what really caught Ryder’s attention was the expensive white table at the far end of the room. It was glowing as a pure pearl and Ryder was a hundred percent sure that it was a scientists’ table. What was it doing in a place like this?
