He cradled something black and wooly in his arms. At first I thought it was a dog. But I remembered werewolves are not permitted to have them, for fear of what they might do under the full moon. There were no pets at all on the island, unless you counted the huge snarling mastiffs with spiked collars that the Enforcement Officers kept in kennels, for use when the werewolves rampaged during Taleeneff. These were my thoughts as Dane Wiltshire crossed the sand toward me. “Good evening,” he said again.

"May I?" I shrugged, not quite sure what I had just agreed to. "Sure. why not?" After all, it couldn't get any stranger. Could it? Monster hunters wanting to kill us all? Check. Crazy wolves announcing themselves as my Glam Squad Dream Team? Check. Two sexy men that are wolves? Check. The sooner I left this crazy train the better.

After the war, some packs were destroyed or scattered, which resulted in the development of several groups of renegade wolves who did not obey the council or any other order that was given to them. Whenever rogues were found, the packs would eliminate them and flush them out of the area. Dark wolves were a very powerful group of rogues, they were like a pack, but they didn’t follow the council. Gunner had recalled running into them a while back, he had not liked the look of the group who had apparently taken on another chapter during their expansion runs. The Howler M.C. and The Alpha Dog M.C. had been more or less even in terms of their true nature. Jake Gladstone was the club president and like Brick, he had wanted to break away from the more traditional wolfpack way of living. He gathered his own band of rabble-rousers and took off for longer sunsets and an endless trail much as Brick did but he was of a different sort given to high terrorism for sport despite those he had in his company not know

Howls of wolves were echoing. The sound of claws slashing intermingling. Making the pack lands of the Capital. Resemble hell. The ground covered in red, from the blood of the pack wolves, hunters and the bloodhounds. With the bloodhounds over powering owing to the advantage of extra ordinary strength and number. I roared, flinging one heavy hand that cracked its skull into two and wincing at the blood that sprayed disgustingly over my sneering face. I kicked at the beasts that rushed forward, tugging the creature’s venomous teeth out my back absently and dodging the creatures that rained down faster on us. “Release the canons!” I thundered to the men firing from the walls just as one of the beasts got slammed to the dirt by a poisoned arrow. "My pack are mediocre, we'll be sticking to the middle of the table, and we're happy to stay there," he snorts, shaking his head. The McConaghy pack produces some of the smartest wolves who go on to become professors in all sorts of subjects. They're generally non-violent, and that stance is respected among the other Alphas. "We're fucked," Scott slurs, giving them both a thumbs up, "I've lost so many of my fighters to the vampires that everyone that's here is afraid to go near anyone else."

Wolves across the room roared with excitement as the arena morphed into a warzone of pillars, weights, enchanted pendulums, and targets.
