Silver light erupted skyward as the first barrier engaged, an enormous dome of ward lattice sealing the academy grounds. Defensive sigils burned bright along every tower, drawing on centuries of accumulated magic. Outside the walls, the forest split open. And from it emerged the Del Imperium. Thirty-one thousand strong. An ocean of shifting forms, wolves, hybrids, armored warriors in disciplined formation. Banners snapped violently in the wind, crowned wolf devouring a star.
