A fire crackled in the hearth, casting flickering shadows across the room. “Who are you?” Reina asked, her claw hand still tightened. “I am called the Keeper,” the figure replied, a sly smile curling at the edges of their lips. “And I may be able to help you find your friend.” Russe stepped forward, hope shining in his eyes. “Please, we’ll do anything,” he pleaded. The Keeper nodded, their eyes darting between the two companions. “Very well,” they said. “But first, I must know what you are willing to sacrifice.”

Aquilo’s voice was forthright. Abel twitched his thin lips and spoke with cold indifference. “There’s no need for that. Besides, every race has its rules. Since I won the race, I only need Joey to keep his promise.” Aquilo and Keith were rendered speechless. Both of them had different expressions as they turned to look at Joey. Joey was still pitifully curled up on the sofa and rubbing the bruises on his face. When he heard what Abel said, his entire body stiffened.

Harry asked in a whisper, “Mr. Jourdain, this is Bryson Yost, a warlord.” Leon, who planned to kill Kayson to get merits, was appalled. “What did you say? A warlord?” Kayson glanced at Carlson coldly, and the latter sneered. “What are you looking at!?” Kayson merely smirked and approached Farris, who had fainted. He put a hand on Farris, his gaze growing icier. “Leon Jourdain, was I rude to you? Have I mistreated you?”

“Heel!” The raging ape breathes deep and exhales, lowering its posture and stepping away from its downed foe. It then proceeds to retrieve an unconscious IvorySting from the bushes, carrying with him the fruits she had gathered. “Kofe, see to the beast, Jojo might have injured it. Ah princess, since it seems you didn’t notice my other friend here earlier, let me introduce him. This is Jojo. He is really sweet when you get to know him better.”

The man turned around and continued to ride away. “You can’t leave me!” Jade continued. “You cannot leave me to die!” Her pleas fell on deaf ears. None of the men turned back. Now completely distraught, Jade fell to her knees once more. She felt completely drained. As tears started to fall, a strong arm appeared out of nowhere to pull her up. Plop! She found herself seated at the back of a camel. “You can ride with me,” its rider said. With a renewed sense of hope, Jade mustered all the strength she had left. “Thank you,” she said as she finally succumbed to sleep.

She curled her lips and called out, "Kent Simons?" Kent was surprised. He pushed his sunglasses up and revealed a pair of foxy eyes. He observed her and asked, "Cutie, have we really met before?" Joey said, "I'm Joey Linton." Kent thought hard for a couple of seconds. He finally remembered who Joey was and stood up straight in all seriousness. He spoke dryly, "Joey … Zachary's wife …" Joey didn't say anything further. She glanced at the supercar's bumper and said, "So, about the car …"

Joey turns and starts pulling me towards the pack house. I tried to struggle away from him, but I can't his grip is strong. I lost my chance to be free, my chance to get to Ethan. "Grab her feet!" I hear Joey bark to another man. "Holy shit is that, Renee?" I hear the man respond. The voice was familiar, but I couldn't quite place it. Then he walked around to grab my legs and I recognized him as Timothy one of Joey's most loyal top warriors. Damn it, I was hoping for someone who might help me.

Now, I don't get to have any fun here, you do. You run and I count to hundred." He slung the quiver over his shoulder. He strapped the gun to his waist, hauled the other stuff into a bag and held the bow. "Then, I'll seek you. Ready, princess?" There was no use begging him for mercy and I knew(firsthand) that he was dead inside.
