The gun trembled in her hands, a symbol of the dire choice she faced. Mr. Calderon, blinded by his obsession, failed to heed her warning. "You wouldn't dare," he scoffed, his confidence unshaken until the moment Hazel, with a resolve as fierce as the fiercest storm, pulled the trigger. The gunshot echoed like a clarion call, a sound that would forever mark the turning point in our lives. Mr. Calderon staggered back, a look of disbelief etched onto his face as he clutched his shoulder, wounded but alive.

he mutters darkly, “let’s see how far he’ll go.” He raises the weapon, aiming through a narrow opening in the window. Sienna’s heart lurches. “Osborne, no!” The shot rings out, shattering the tension. Noah ducks instinctively, the bullet embedding itself harmlessly in the porch railing. The officers respond immediately, their guns firing in rapid succession. Sienna screams as bullets rip through the walls, shattering glass and sending debris flying. Osborne ducks, but he doesn’t back down. He fires again, his aim wilder this time.

All armed. “Did you really think I wouldn’t plan for this?” He raised his hand. His people aimed. “You’re not leaving. You’re dying here.” Sage shifted to human. Stood naked and defiant. “Then make it quick.” “Oh no. Not quick. We’re going to make an example of you.” Richard looked at his people. “Set up the cameras. The world is going to watch you die slowly.” But before they could move, the windows exploded. Federal agents poured in. Dozens of them. SWAT teams. Tactical gear.

He was surrounded. “LAST WARNING!” He screamed, pulling the trigger back. “I WILL DO IT!” Suddenly… SWOOSH! Something sharp flew through the air so fast it was barely visible. THWAK! “ARRRGH!” The man screamed in pain, dropping the knife and the gun. His hand was pierced by a small combat knife, pinning it to the wooden crate behind him. “NOW!” Damien’s voice roared from somewhere in the dark. From the shadows, Damien’s men appeared, wearing tactical gear, shooting with precision.

The window shattered, and she took the shock as an advantage and snatched the gun from him before he could take another shot. She pulled his hand in and punched him on his face. Jay too took out his gun and Mayra signaled him to shoot the guy which he did just in between his eyes, on the head. “Back of my seat!” Jay told Ved but Mayra interrupted. “He wouldn’t be able to handle it,” Mayra said firing at another guy who pointed his gun at them. A few more men gathered around their car and the people waiting on the signal rushed out of their vehicles to the other road for safety. Some stood by on the sides watching the scene.

The second cop trembled in his seat, eyes filled with terror. Damian turned back to me. “That was warning number one.” I clenched my fists. “You’ll pay for that.” Damian didn’t even flinch. He aimed his gun at the second cop. “Wait—” I started. Another gunshot. Another body slumped lifelessly to the floor. My heart pounded in my chest, but I forced myself to keep my composure. Damian tucked the gun back into his jacket and stared at me with a bored expression. “That was warning number two.”

I can’t say I have a lot of enemies, but I also can’t say I have just one. I don’t know who’s attacking us. They have their faces covered, so I don’t recognize a single one of them, nor their cars. I look over the parked car, and that’s when I notice one of the assholes sticking his arm out of the car window, holding a fucking molotov cocktail. “Watch out!” I warn, but it’s in vain. Hunter has already seen the guy and shoots him in the arm as he winds back to throw, making the cocktail fall on the opposite side of the vehicle away from us. It’s rolling toward the other side of the street.

No one speaks, not a sound except the click of their polished shoes on the tile. Once Reggie reaches the closed door, he pauses. Then, he turns. My stomach twists, a gut feeling settling in my chest. Blood rushes in my ears, my heart pounding. “Fifteen million, Ray. Consider this—” he lifts the gun in his hand, “a warning.” Everything happens in slow motion. My eyes widen at the sight of the gun aimed at me, a shot rings out and something hits me in the arm. It sears through my skin, and I stagger back, my lips falling open either on a gasp…or a scream.

Loud shots began to ring out immediately. “Get down!” Victor ordered loudly as he pulled out his gun and began to fire out the window. I was about to pull out my gun and begin shooting when the second blast rocked the ground under us. Our SUV was thrown to the side. The air was filled with smoke. The heavy stench of burning rubber and blood filled my nose. Pain shot through my body as I hit the glass. My vision began to blur but I forced myself to remain conscious. “Boss!” I heard Barry shout somewhere amidst the chaos.

The sound exploded into the storm. Rowan moved instantly. He lunged forward as Amara dropped to the ground. The bullet didn’t hit her. But it tore through Rowan’s shoulder. He didn’t slow down. Didn’t feel it. He tackled the gunman into the wet concrete. Chaos erupted. Victor cursed and stepped back as Rowan slammed his fist into the attacker’s jaw. Security headlights suddenly flooded the pier. Rowan’s private security team stormed in from both sides. Victor’s calm façade shattered.
