In one text, Helm explains how you can use a cat to destroy an enemy: “Make small sacks like fire arrows. If you want to go to a city or castle, look for a cat from that place. And tie the bag to the cat's back, turn it on, leave it on properly and then let the cat go. And out of fear, he (the cat) thought of hiding himself in a place like a hay shed and the hay would catch fire,” wrote Franz Helm.

There was really no need for me to be here at the mansion. “Take these herbs, Alpha John. They will help with the pain,” one of the maids whispered as she placed a small bundle of dried herbs on the round table, beside a cup of water. I hesitated, wondering when I asked for these. She bowed her head respectfully and turned to leave, her footsteps soft on the floor. One of the warriors quickly grabbed the herbs, holding them out to me. “Alpha John, you need to take this; it’s important for your health right now,” the warrior urged, his deep baritone voice filled with authority.

His big chest rising and falling with each deep angry breath he took “what is your name warrior?” My eyes flickered and my heart jumped at his question when I heard a sudden whine of pain, my eyes went to the place it was coming from when I saw a light brown wolf with a gold tail lying on the floor ahead of me, its paws twitching, my face falling in fear. I forgot where I was as I ran to it, knowing who’s wolf it was. My legs felt like jelly as I dropped to my knees beside her and held her furry face in my hands, her eyes flickering open to look at me as she whined in pain.

The moon was full overhead, casting everything in silver light. I gathered the herbs the book mentioned. Sage, rosemary, and something called wolf's bane that grew wild near the fence. My hands were shaking as I arranged them in a circle like the book showed. "This has to work," I whispered. "Please let this work." I lit the herbs with my candle. They caught fire quickly, sending sweet smoke into the air. The book said to kneel in the center and speak the words while focusing on my wolf. I took a deep breath and began.

At least the book has pictures in color. A strange green leaf. Its smell is sharp. Almost medicinal. It is better than the stench of blood and death that clings to the air. I pull the arrow free in a swift, unsteady motion. His body jerks in pain and his boot catches my arm. Stay calm. “Sorry,” I mumble, my voice barely audible over the chaos of battle surrounding us. “Kate,” he groans, his voice strained with pain. I glance up briefly but keep my eyes locked on his wound as I crush the herb and sprinkle it into the gaping hole in his flesh. He groans, convulsing from the pain.

His cat - a deep shade of red with eyes that glow like demon dogs – mercilessly maims and kills until he stands above me hissing and snarling at the other males whose hands had touched me. Arik steps forward, the king of the Pride baring his teeth and roaring back at my mate. My heart stutters and fear swirls when they pounce on one another. Crimson’s form doubles in size and the rippling red of his fur that coats his cat, glistens under the glow of the moon and the tip of the dawn’s first light. The witching hour. Like fiery flames flickering and licking, his fur dances and flares with each movement as they lock in a brutal battle... An enigma is what he is, and I’m captivated by the power

He pressed his foot on my knife laden back making them go deeper but I refused to show my pain I have never felt so helpless before My wolf refused to take over because of the wolfsbane and my human was fighting the pain My heeling power was stronger but this wolfsbane was blocking them Every cell in my body was engulfed in this burning ache but my face remained emotionless On seeing no reaction from my side he applied more weight on my back with his foot But little did he knew that it would take death for him to break me. Most of the warriors finally sensed the incoming demons. They braced themselves as the approaching hordes of demons trampled the ground and creating an earthquake within the earth.

were in battle with a large number of cats. They must have planned an ambush thinking the wolves would be caught in the traps. I didn’t want to run into the middle of the fight because I didn’t want to distract my mate so I made my way around the edge of the fight picking off cats as I went and making sure not to hurt any of the warriors in the process. Being a dragon I was able to fight and keep an eye on my mate. You could say I was a true multitasker. My magic was very strong. My Alpha mate was a fighter like none I have ever seen. His wolf Maxim was lethal using his teeth and claws to rip the cats apart. I was proud to have such a strong mate. Even covered in blood he was magnificent. H
