Quite cryptic if you asked me. The brittle pages rustled as I continued to flip through; “Long ago, there was a battle that raged on between demons,” my brows knitted in confusion as I closed the book and read the back cover just in case, why was I reading about demons? The book had a wolf picture in front, imposing and strong looking, how come it talked about demons instead? Placing the book back on the shelf as it wasn't the one I was looking for when I stopped midway, I thought maybe to give the book another chance, it was just a feeling though.

“What’s that sound?” “Who’s coming?” I stared in the same direction. Then my eyes widened. Thousands of warriors emerged from the distance. They marched forward in perfect formation, every single one dressed in identical black armor. The armor was sleek and heavily reinforced, covering their chests, shoulders, arms, and legs. The crest of the Silver Moon Pack was engraved across the center of every breastplate. Their weapons glinted as they advanced. My mouth fell open. Kael or rather, Cassian stood beside me with a calm smile.

Made perfect sense, but I was also confused. “If he isn’t the beta, does that mean you have two betas?” I inquired because I was confused. A pack only had an Alpha, A beta and sometimes A gamma, who was the head warrior in most cases, but not all. I had never heard of one with two betas.

I crumpled onto the leather couch and gave myself a moment to take in Talon’s imposing form. His arms and hands were covered with intricate tattoos, each one telling its own story. Another design snaked up the side of his neck. A dark gray V-neck shirt stretched taut across his broad shoulders. The Warriors patch on the back of his vest gleamed white in the dim lamplight.

It was not all, the cover was the eyes of werewolves. My brows furrowed in keen interest as well as something I can't name settling within me. Without thinking further, my hand took out the book and the front cover showed the face of werewolves with its eyes glowing in a golden hue. I brushed my fingers on the cover, mesmerized by the image. It was delicately printed and made.

“I know you’ll be hearing this a lot. Alpha King, the rogue kingdom stands by you and we will follow you into battle. ” His eyes sought out Mack and he watched as Raina’s brother bow to him without hesitation. Tomorrow would bring them that much closer to war, death, and bloodshed. The World Council lurked in the shadows, waiting for the perfect time to attack. There would be no more waiting. It was an illusion that everyone believed that they had full control of him, his life, and the lives of others. Illusions were nothing more than twisted reality — a reality he hated. They were meant to be shattered and he was done waiting. Hell, the world of werewolves was done waiting.

One never knew when that information could come in handy. Plus, it’d help to pass the time and keep me busy. Sounded like a win-win to me. There was some type of writing on the front that I couldn’t read, but I could feel the power radiating off of the book. Strangely, Bex couldn’t feel it. I opened the cover, revealing an intricate colored illustration that showed a large silver wolf standing below a blood moon, its head tilted back in a howl. Light from the moon fell in rays onto the wolf.

I watch him pass me and note the lettering on the back of his cut. Nightmare Warriors.
