*Jaedon’s POV* “You’re saying war?” My best friend and Beta, Peter Normandy raised his eyebrows at me. Peter and I had met when we were children. Our pack, Snow Creek, had taken over his own pack Everforest. Now, the remaining joined us and pledged their loyalty. It hasn’t been a terrible thing for them though. We didn’t have to kill anyone. Their Alpha had been sick and the sickness was spreading. He asked us to take over the healthy of their pack so it wouldn’t have to die off. Our Alpha at the time obliged.

Just a crescent white moon etched in the center of the cover. My fingers close around it. It’s cold. I glance back at Alex and Ava. They’re speaking in low voices, Alex watching her like a hawk. Good. I open the book, flipping through pages quickly. Hand written text in cursive with black and white pictures of symbols, and unknown diagrams fills the worn page. I squint my eyes and look through the small text until I find what I'm looking for. Mana Wolves. The words almost glow on the page. My heart skips a beat. This is it.

It looked almost alive in the torchlight. "I carved it myself," the young warrior said. My throat tightened with emotion. "It's beautiful. Thank you—" "There's more," another voice called out. Behind the young warrior, others stepped forward. Each holding something. A handwoven blanket in Frostveil's colors—deep blue and silver. A leather-bound journal with my name embossed on the cover. A necklace with a small pendant shaped like a crescent moon. Hand-carved bookends in the shape of wolves.

"Mr Philip sent me to give this to you." "Thanks." I collected the book to inspect the front cover, while he showed off some dimples. The book had a raccoon as it's display photo. The raccoon looked thrilled to bits with both hands up and mouth open like it was shouting. The background was yellow, it had the words, 'furiosly happy' boldly written on it. Under the book title, there were word too that said, 'a funny book about terrible things' written in smaller font, while the author's name was Jenny Lawson.

Even its cover was clean, on the cover had the drawings, that Alpha Angelo couldn't understand. Being the first time to hold the book, he was surprised to see the picture of wolves in their full transformation. A full moon shinning above them, then at the far end of the cover there was a hunter with a ring shinning. It appeared to be a reflection from the moon's light, well, it was strange. It was strange because, Alpha Angelo couldn't understand why the picture of a hunter was on the cover. He wished to call Beta Dagon so that they can read it together, but he remembered.

Punching him in his arm I nodded and told him not to spread it around. “Thanks for everything; you were one of my favorite guards to work with,” I commented, and he smiled. “Better be on your way, warrior. Goddess, be with you, Athena,” he said firmly and waving my farewell, I started to run again toward the southern perimeter. Once I reached the edge of Jordan’s land, I stepped over into another pack area, and instead of feeling relaxed, I tensed up. “Do you know who has a claim to these lands,” I asked my wolf and waited for her answer.

That man in the center, he’s known as the Yellow Emperor, and he holds them all together.” “That’s very interesting,” Jade said, her full attention focused on the image in front of her. It seems like she has finally found her topic. “Isn’t it? If you’d like to know more about it, there are a couple of books you can read,” the man continued.
