Chapter Four The Shadowpaw training grounds lay shrouded in perpetual twilight, even at midday. Ancient pines blocked most of the sun’s light, creating a landscape of shadows and half darkness that suited the pack perfectly. Shadowpaw wolves trained here to move unseen, to kill silently, to become one with the darkness itself. They were the scouts and assassins of the werewolf clans, feared, respected, and never quite trusted by the other packs.

“And who are they?” Shadow rolled her head to the ceiling, recalling her perfectly fine memory.
