Despite my anger at Eden and my frustration with Robin, I was glad that Benny was safe and indoors. "I'd better get going on my rounds." After he'd left and she'd locked the front door, Robin carried the empty coffee mugs into the kitchen. She looked out the window while she was rinsing them at the sink, her eyes captured by the sight of a grey and white bird perched in a circle of sunlight on the lawn between two thick shrubs. It fluttered its wings as it split the air with its shrill cry. Plants with colorful flowers stood in the sunlight side by side with those having broad, shiny leaves. It was so different from the icy cold of the north she felt warm just looking at them. Seth was right.

He took off his bandage from Raymond's hand and opened the bottle. She poured the liquid on his wounded hand. Smoke came out of Raymond's hands. The effect of silver water was slowly evaporating like smoke. After a few minutes, Robin bandaged Raymond's hand again and let out a sigh. "You could have stopped her. Why did you not stop her?"

She kicks away from the side, dives under the water, and resumes her swimming. Robinson goes to the bar and opens the fridge. “There’s only Coca-cola and tonic water.” “I’m not thirsty.” He pulls his head from the fridge and gives me a mock-horrified look. “What? Luna Belle not hungry or thirsty? It’s going to storm, and I’ve had enough of that in New York.” My tone is sarcastic. “Ha-ha.” He grabs a can of Coke. “Sure you don’t want one?” “I do,” Clarita says, pushing herself out of the water.
