I Was The Outsider

I Was The Outsider

I clutched the phone, my voice betraying nothing when I finally spoke. Her voice cracked. "Say something! Where are you? Mama will send someone to get you." My tone was flat. "Don't bother. I'm in Europe. I won't be returning to the manor anytime soon." There was silence on the other end for a few seconds, followed by a gasp of disbelief. "What do you mean? You flew across the Atlantic by yourself? Are you insane? A young woman alone, without protection..."

THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF

THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF

The wagon rolled away, shrinking until it vanished around the bend. Silence rushed in. Just me. The rain. The pillar. The road. I opened the sack. Inspected the meager offerings. Then I kept only the dagger. The rest I hurled into the bracken. I started walking. Not east, not back toward Jordan Pack. Not yet. West. Into the unclaimed hills where rogue packs scratched out survival, where mercenaries drowned shame in cheap spirits, where loyalty was a currency and grudges could be commissioned with the right stack of coin or the right edge of steel.

A Rival for the Hockey Alpha

A Rival for the Hockey Alpha

I had never asked him where he came from. Is the West not the same place the lab guy confirmed the healing balms come from? Everything was coming at me all at once. My legs seemed wobbly now. I managed to sit on the bed, looking intensely at the paper in my hand as my brain spun with thoughts. I reached for my phone, typing furiously. “Everything I need to know about the Western Pack.” And just like that, everything that concerned the West popped up. I scrolled, going from one page to another, but… nothing was interesting.

Rising from the Ashes

Rising from the Ashes

"I can't make sense of it, but I think we don't need to worry about all that. Let's just focus on making Abyss City even stronger first!" Andrew said, "No matter how fast we grow, we still need time. But right now, whether it's the Cathedral or the Ludendorff family, either side can swallow up Abyss City completely. So time isn't on our side. We'll have to create our own advantages. Mr. Hearst, which major city is to the west in the Outlands?" Franz was startled, then answered, "There's nothing but wasteland to the west. While there's no major city, in the far west lies the Werewolf Sacred Mountain ruled by the Dark Clans."

Reynir Kjartansson
Very good story and the ending was relatively good since each part of the story give a obvious closure. The audio book is also available the whole story. Other authors should follow this example. There is nothing worse than a forced ending or a cut off story, so this story gets all stars, great job!

Out of His Reach

Out of His Reach

Vincent promised solemnly at the headstone. As the fall breeze blew, Vincent held me close. “I bought back the old Sorrentino estate. From now on, we can settle in New Haven. We’re home.” I rested against him, watching the distant sunset, and gently nodded. “Good.”

An Outsider in My Own Family

An Outsider in My Own Family

"Where are you going? We're departing tomorrow. How are we supposed to leave when you haven't packed up for us?" "Do you have no hands, or are you just useless? Even a three-year-old would know to take care of their own business—don't you understand it?" I replied. Mom choked. By the time she wanted to reply, I had already put on my shoes and walked out of the house. Since they liked Madeline so much, I'll let her have the role of the daughter of the Lewis family. They could deceive my emotions, but not my money. I would be a fool to let them take my money to support someone else.

The Luna's Claws of Revenge

The Luna's Claws of Revenge

“The risks of going to the west are mitigated. The eastern route involves climbing mountains with steep cliffs. It will be difficult to get supplies to our warriors.” In all honesty, I would be ecstatic if they decided to go to the west because that would give Lyra another opportunity to strike. The central route we used last time is much closer to the western route, which means it’s within striking distance for Lyra. By pleading the case that we should go to the east, I’m implicating myself much less than if it were the other way around. But I also have to sound intelligent and not make the Alpha think I’m worthless. “I agree that it’s more direct to go the western route, but the enemy won’

Dirty Valentine’s Secret

Dirty Valentine’s Secret

The Arrival at the West The barge hit the Missouri mud with a "Ruthless" thud. They drove the truck off the ramp and onto the "Unindexed" soil of the West. The landscape here was different—flatter, wider, and filled with a "Raw Vulnerability" that made the Maine woods seem like a "Gilded Cage." Aria looked back at the river. The "Great Divide" was behind them. The "Common Ledger" of the East—the towers, the ruins, and the "Ghost-Scripts"—felt like a dream that was finally beginning to fade.

THE HEIRESS IN OVERALLS

THE HEIRESS IN OVERALLS

Chapter 34: The Legacy Blueprint The sun shone brightly in the afternoon casting a warm glow over the rolling hills of the upstate estate. The sun's rays spilled through the French doors of the western-wing studio. Avery stood by a long mahogany table looking at a leather-bound book. It had arrived by courier that morning. The book was a collectors edition. It was printed for her private archive. For years her words had only existed on screens. They flashed before the eyes of millions of readers on websites. She wrote them quickly to escape her circumstances. Now she held the weight of her journey in her hands. The book was bound in gold-embossed leather. It felt like something
