But I was already looking past him. At Kairos. Reed followed my gaze, and without missing a beat, he nodded. “You go out the west exit, hang left; it’s by the practice fields.”
On cue, Kairos stood up, and I was halfway through realizing I had left my wallet in the locker with my bag when he spoke. “I’ve got you,” he said, and I turned to everyone, asking if anyone wanted me to grab something for them.
One guy said, "Water, please," already reaching for his wallet. Normally, I would have told him I had him, but since Kairos was paying, I took the cash. The rest did not want anything.
