"Get us to the tree-line." ​As the SUV roared to life, Leo looked back at the Miller Tower. It was no longer pulsing red, but it looked broken, a monument to a family that had tried to be gods and ended up as orphans. ​The Cabin in the Pines: ​Three hours later, the rain had turned to a thick, mountain mist. The SUV groaned as it climbed the unpaved trail toward the highest peaks of the Silverwood valley. Here, the pines grew so thick they choked out the light of the city below. The scent of damp earth and pine needles was so strong it made Leo’s wolf-half stir, a low, deep rumble in his chest that he hadn't felt since the fight in the Hall.

I could tell by the way the pines grew shorter and more sparse, the ground rockier and less hospitable the further the road wound into the mountainside. I had the radio blasting, playing some pop song I’d heard a thousand times before, in an attempt to stave off the dread I felt forming in the pit of my stomach. But it wasn’t enough. More than once, I had considered turning around. This felt like a bad idea—literally wandering into the wolf’s den—and yet, every time my foot itched toward the brake lever, I would remember Jayne’s disappointed stare, and my vows would repeat in my head like a mantra.

I wanted to believe Declan could be trusted, but the shadows in his past always seemed to shape his present. Aria's POV The drive to Silvercrest took over an hour, but it passed in a focused silence between my partner and me. "Look at the tall pines," I muttered to Maya's hearing as soon as we approached the borders of the pack. "Very beautiful," she replied. "They're oldies but still goldies." I nodded, noting how the shadows of the pines stretched long across the asphalt as the sun climbed toward its late morning peak. The deeper we drove into Silvercrest, the more dazed we were with its natural touch.

*We must be worthy. The landscape outside our windows had gradually transformed from manicured farmland to thicker woodland—the first fingers of Blackwood Forest reaching toward the road. Trees grew denser with each mile, their shadows lengthening in the late afternoon light. the branch became two then three then bunches of branches all going and leading me some where, and I am following it out of curiosity, if I stop to look behind me , they grap and push me forward, as the way became baved for me all trees making a way even pushing rocks , Shrubberies coming closer to each other leaving enough space for me to pass through, I looked behind to see all my trace is being erased , even the rocks are being build in a wall behind me by the branches , it did give me chills of creep but somehow i felt the greatness of it . this forest used to have the most terrible reputation over the years , even mom feared it , they said no animal can walk within it , it's lifeless ,
