When he asked her what happened, she quickly took out her knife and put it on his throat.

When our lips parted we both couldn’t help the smiles that formed on our faces. “Goodnight handsome!” I giggled and slammed the door on his face. And I heard him yell through the door, “see you at the bar!” Before walking off. About a second later I heard a knock on the door and knew Liv was here. “Eeek!” She shrieked, and shoved me out of her way, sitting down on the edge of my bed. “Sooo, you know…!!!” She giggled. “If you’re referring to the Cartel then yes.” I rolled my eyes and smiled.

I said with no trace of excitement or whatsoever in my voice, and before the boys could talk, I already walked away. In the locker room, I stripped out of my gear and threw on my clothes before walking out of the arena. “There he is!" Wendy shouted as she ran over to my side, jumping onto me and wrapping her hands around my neck as she pressed her lips to mine. “I knew you wouldn't stay long." She said as soon as I pulled out of the kiss staring at her pretty face. “Seems you know me too well," I smirked, and she brightened up with a smile.

"Yes of course I will be careful, and don't worry I am considering her as my sister," "Good!" she blew me a kiss and sat behind us Darnell equally following her lead. I looked at them and Wendy was no longer in her seat but was on his laps. I chucked lightly shaking my head while she winked at me. I bet this year won't end without those two having a kid

"Isn’t it?" Wendy smirked, her lips curving into an all-too-familiar smug grin. "You have a good memory, Katy," she said, her tone dripping with condescension. She motioned toward an empty table nearby. "Come on, let’s sit. I don’t bite. At least, not anymore."

Damon could swear that James looked straight at Wendy and winked. He looked between the two and finally shook off the absurd notion. Mitch struck out the next batter and the Tide was up to bat. Wendy clutched her hands like an anxious mother. Todd Cameron, the lead off, looked up at Wendy as he headed to the plate, grinned and waved. Wendy waved and blew him a kiss. Damon stared but didn’t say anything. Things just got stranger and stranger. I noticed that when Walter looked at his fiancée, he seemed to be wondering about what she was thinking and actually worried that she might be upset. Wait, was that jealousy I saw in Wendy’s eyes and expressions because she was maybe thinking that I and Walter have something? Was she jealous of me? Wow! How cute! But she was absolutely wrong! And Walter Mendoza is just one of the boys in our circle who loves to annoy me in any way they can! Wendy Lane looked at me. Insatiable greed filled her gaze. I looked at her with an uneasy sense of unfamiliarity. Seeing me staring blankly, she stepped closer. “What’s wrong? Are you tired?” “No.” I forced down the rising nausea and turned to touch Xeno Franklin’s head. The child I had raised for six years turned his head away to avoid my hand.
