“Not that I consider you a threat, buddy. You understand what I mean.” Jason glowered briefly to express his dislike for the insult his friend gave before nodding his head and shrugging his shoulders. “What about dying?” I asked. “In all the stories about vampires and werewolves they say that the werewolf bite can be lethal to a vampire.” “That’s true,” Jason said. “The venom in our saliva can be lethal, but not our blood.”

The red color she had dyed the tips of her human hair now showed in a straight line along her back, all the way to her tail. In front of her, the werewolf had also begun to change, but he was not yet done. She could immediately see he was also a black wolf and large, much larger than her. The vampire stood to the side, which was probably wise considering a bite from a werewolf, no matter how small would guarantee his permanent death. She knew from past down history that a wolf’s bite contained a venom that was toxic to the cold blood suckers. Mia had never had the pleasure of confirming the theory. She glanced at the vampire. If he moved a muscle, she would gladly put the theory to the test.

“Your friend, Miss Winter, is becoming part vampire. A hybrid, to be specific.” “You know?” I raise my brows. “I’ve known for a while, yes.” “What?” I sit forward. “And you mention this only now?” “Miss Woods. You’re new to this world. And, they haven’t covered vampires in history class yet, but it is common knowledge that a vampire’s bite—” “Is lethal to a werewolf. Yeah, I already know that.” “Oh?” she arches her brow. “Then are you aware that it is not only unheard of. Mostly.”

One of the soldiers cried out, and I was immediately attacked by the closest wolf. I leapt backwards in the same instant, successfully dodging a swipe that was meant to decapitate me. I'd almost forgotten just how potent werewolf venom was to vampires. One graze from its outrageously large claws, and I'd be dosed with enough venom to knock me out. Under normal circumstances, I might be able to decompose the toxin. But in my current condition, pulling that feat was nearly impossible. To survive, I would have to make sure I do not concede any blow.

I exclaimed and by now Dominic had already pulled me in his lap and tried to comfort me by drawing soft circles on my back to soothe me down. “Relax honey bunch. Everything will be alright,” he coaxed. No ! Nothing can be alright now !! Someone fucking killed a supernatural being- a werewolf in broad daylight ! And not to forget that he was one of the Dark Lord’s rogues !! I am so screwed if they trace me through him. “You are panicking,” Dominic murmured and before I knew it, he had bitten me by my neck and immediately after, I lost myself to the dark blackness of unconsciousness.

Vampires and werewolves are born, end of story. Now, here’s where things get complicated, and where my own story really begins. A vampire or a werewolf can mate with a human. The offspring? They’ll become a vamp or a were 99% of the time. That other 1%? They remain stubbornly, frustratingly human. Then there’s the Hibridni, or hybrid. That’s what you get when a vampire or a werewolf mates with a witch. The result is pretty rare: a vampire or werewolf with magical abilities. They get the best—or worst, depending on your perspective—of both worlds. It was always understood that a vampire and a werewolf could never produce offspring with each other. It was biologically impossible, a fundamental

I could see lights surrounding me too. And then, it happened. I could feel my body change. My skin began to ripple, my bones shifted, and my face changed. When it was done, I was no longer a human. I was a beautiful white wolf with blue eyes. My fur was velvet-like and without stain. I looked elegant as I stood before everyone. I was scared, but Alpha Solomon was there. He put his hand on my head and said, “You are a powerful werewolf now. You have been healed and made stronger. You are no longer the person you were when I found you. I changed you and I will change your destiny”

“And yes, it is true to some extent. They are fast, cold and bloodthirsty. Of course, all that shit about garlic and stuff, that’s just nonsense.” “But werewolves are fast and strong too, so what are you worried about?” “It’s not that. The thing is, we haven’t had a vampire trespass in years. There is only one vampire coven nearby, and we already have an existing treaty with them which forbids them to enter or hunt in our lands and vice versa. So, either they have broken the treaty, which I don’t think is the case, or there is someone else. Our territory doesn’t just extend to the pack house. It also includes the human territories around. We are worried that if we don’t get hold of this soon

“What’s your point?” “Oh, just that they could literally kill each other,” he says sarcastically. “A vampire needs to drink the blood of his Fated to bond with them, and a wolf needs to claim their mate with a bite. Vampire blood kills wolves, while a wolf’s bite is fatal for a vampire. See where I’m going with this?”

I mused. “It wouldn’t help you against a werewolf bite, anyway. If there is still a hint of the vampire virus in you and you get bitten by a wolf during the full moon, you’ll either die or go mad. Depending upon the severity of it, a werewolf bite during the full moon is lethal to a vampire. If you don’t have the virus in you, then you’ll either die or turn. Any way you look at it, it’s bad news. Just stay inside and lock your doors and windows to be safe. “Does Megan know about this?” I asked.
