What Makes A Novel Good Novels & Stories

Starting this book wasn't part of the plan. That day, my goal was to scroll through P*******t to find a cover for "GOOD SIN" since I wasn't able to afford a designer. But then, I saw a rainbow poem. And it was just... too emotional. I've always been neutral but the idea just came that day. I wasn't a big fan of MM or BL books and I knew it won't hurt to do something new so I started my first draft. The final kick in the ass was Goodnovel's contest. I applied and I wasn't really surprised when it passed the review because I worked for this.

What would be the best trait a main character of a novel has? Their wit? Their personality? No. Or their skills and hard work? No! What about overcoming their trauma? Their background story and motivation? Their character development? No, no! That was not the best! The main characters of a novel NEED none of those. The foremost thing they needed was... Luck. Plot armor! Cecilia KNEW that was the point of being the main character. Someone who had strong plot armor and tremendous luck on their side.

Rosalie was beginning to see her in a new light. The author was a very resilient and strong-willed woman, which was a stark difference from her novel. She should have known. The values exemplified in a novel didn’t necessarily represent those of the author. An author simply writes a story filled with many different characters. If their values all represented that of the author, the author would have to be schizophrenic or take on many different faces.
