My stuff were all their. That's when it had hit me, I was the only anomaly in her perfect life. And she left me behind. She took everyone and left the stray hair behind. After finding out from a neighbor that they had loaded stuff into a lorry and left. I picked all the snacks and burger I had bought them and headed to the back of the garden feeling like dying. Every breath I took in and out made me feel even more useless and stupid. Why would she leave men behind. Was it worth it.

Unhurried. Daniel stood frozen, watching her disappear into the canvas shadows. He called her name once more. She didn’t look back. The wind rose, carrying dust between them. For the first time in his life, Daniel Hawthorne understood something with brutal clarity— This wasn’t her leaving. This was him being left behind. And there would be no return.

The stronghold wouldn't let her. The same thing it had done to me. The same ultimatum. Sacrifice the badge to leave.
