For the first time, Cathedra had someone who didn't cringe every time she opened her mouth to speak. So this is what having a friend feels like, huh? Cathedra thought to herself. One lunch break, while waiting for Diane underneath the tree, Cathedra was scribbling a draft of her first novel in her notebook. The novel contained the scenes she saw in the storybook, back in her kindergarten days. Since that day at kindergarten, she didn't tell anyone what she saw in the storybooks anymore. The thought of seeing things that other people couldn't still terrified her but she tried hard not to think about it by avoiding any book she can see other than school books and textbooks.

Annabelle widened her eyes in horror, the old fox's wish was like a curse to her! Kendrick laughed triumphantly, "It's your turn." Annabelle looked into the pool and since she had nothing to do, she decided to play a game. But what should I wish for? Did Kendrick let her go? She shook her head, knowing that she would leave him sooner or later, without needing to make a wish. Let's talk about a wish that definitely wouldn't come true. Remembering the figure that resembled the young master she had seen in the concert hall the previous night, Annabelle's lips curled up slightly, granting her wish.

Nicholas took a seat at the counter once more, and he would’ve sworn that daggers were threatening to stick through his chest. The assortment of Buche de Noel cakes on the bakery’s countertops now haunted him. They became an instant reminder of his time spent with Molly, how she wanted to share something with him in the form of Christmas Wishes, how she maybe even wanted to build their own something someday. They were a symbol of her kindness and hope. A hope he'd destroyed. Guilt washed over Nicholas, thick and inescapable, as he thought about how he’d sold their chance at a love story to the highest bidder.

The title of the book was, 'My Last Wish'. The book was about a beautiful poor and hardworking girl called Daisy. She was smarter than most in the Country of Envia, despite being a peasant. Her one desire in life was to visit the palace library. Like me, she had been an orphan, but unlike me, she had been adopted by an abusive family. One night, tired of the abuse that her adoptive mother's drunken escapades brought, she fled their cottage. On the road, she ran into the carriage of a nobleman, who took pity on her situation.

We did not fear the cold. I thought, “But Alex, I had traded all my power to make the second wish for your family.” I was as fragile as any human. My fingers were sheathed in frost. The world in front of me was blurring. When I looked up, I saw dark clouds gathering quietly in the sky. It was coming. “Ten… nine… eight… seven…” As soon as I finished the countdown, I burst into manic laughter. “Alex, I curse you! You will suffer miserably for the rest of your short life!”

"Christmas wishes? I believe they are. Why do you ask?" "Well…" Malaya looked embarrassed, chewing her bottom lip the way Laila did when she got anxious. "Barry at school said you get one Christmas wish every year. Like, one special one. And he's wishing for a new bike." "That's a great wish," Laila said warmly, brushing Malaya's hand. "And Christmas is coming up fast. But remember, wishes don't always come true exactly as we think they will. Sometimes they happen in ways we don't expect."

While it was usually Yvie's cooking that quietly awaited me every day, I'd surprise her with my cooking on occasion when I had the time. As time passed, I thought life was good, and I didn't want to disappoint her. Hence, I prepared to propose on her birthday, buying her favorite cake and a set of jewelry. The candlelights were glowing when I turned off the lights, and Yvie's eyes sparkled beautifully, making her look like a luminous angel against the darkness.
