Alex took the cup and put the stick that hung out on the edge to his lips before sucking the substance through it. Then pushed it back in my clasp so I could do the same.

We ordered smoothies from the bored-looking, lone worker, Brandy getting a banana strawberry and me getting peach, and sat down at one of the three actual tables, plopping down on the stools across from each other. I stirred the pinkish liquid with my straw, leaning on the heel of my hand, and staring at Brandy who was already slurping her smoothie down. I rolled my eyes at her eagerness, but began to sip on my own smoothie, letting the cool liquid sooth my oddly raw throat. I guess it was just sore from explaining the same story over and over again. Brandy only seemed to slurp her drink down because the taste of it was enjoyable - even if she did do most of the talking.

Ava snarled “We're not scratching her eyes Ava” I chuckled, “she's just a kid, her crush literally got taken away, she'll be fine” I shrugged. “Whatever, she smelt weird by the way, you should be careful, something is off” she said. “Noted. Avocado slices with sea salt. And yes, a bottle of electrolyte-enhanced water.

Trying my best not to make her feel any unease. “No, it’s okay, I guess. I just prefer a healthier diet.” She says, tossing her hair over her shoulder again. “Well let’s get you that water then, shall we.” I reply, smiling at her. “What’s your flavour?” “Apple & Mint” she says, her eyes skimming over the bottled water in the fridge. I got her the water she wanted, and I ordered myself a chocolate smoothy with fresh strawberry pieces.
