I knew she was awake. I lay in the dark and I held the words I had found and I thought: tomorrow. At one-twenty the light went out. The dark became the specific and complete dark of a hallway at one-twenty in the morning.

I confess to her. “We need to hurry, Harris. I don’t want to hurry you, but I’m looking forward to the sun when the light won’t leave us. It is still difficult for us here when we are still in this position and there is no light because it is already too dark here. Except when the moon is bright. But the moon can't be big now because it is not yet the night of darkness.” I shook my head. “Night of darkness?” at the length of what Dralia said, that stuck in my mind. After all, that word is strange to me. It looked like something bad was going to happen that very night.

I was about to say something again when Northon suddenly screamed on top of his lungs, "IT'S TIIIIIIIME!" Suddenly, all the lights were shut off. It was dark, with only emergency flashlights and candles providing faint light. I saw Derek looking anxious and unsettled in the corner. Did he have a fear of the dark?

Parking slot of an old house Alexandra found she was tied up in a dark room. Her eyes could see only dark, not sure if she was blindfolded or it was really nothing but darkness. Actually she was feeling numb all over her body, almost like an unconscious person. She didn't know what was going on. But one thing she knew for sure, she was drugged.

Then, with purpose, I tossed it into the trash can. The sharp, hollow clink of metal hitting the bottom echoed through the quiet night. The wind brushed against me, its chill settling over my skin. I looked out over the night view, where even the dimmest stars held a faint trace of light. Then, I turned and stepped back inside, closing the door behind me. In that moment, I felt a stillness I had never known. Everything in the past had finally fallen with the stars into endless darkness. And ahead of me, there lay countless possibilities that I could explore one by one.
